What message would you give Amanda Pritchard, new CEO of NHS England?

Amanda Pritchard took up her post as the Chief Exec of NHS England on 1st August. Here's a bit about her:

www.england.nhs.uk/2021/07/amanda-pritchard-appointed-nhs-chief-executive/

We have the first woman in charge of a service that is mainly staffed by women. In response to a comment from another poster about starting a thread, I wondered what messages you think she needs to hear about women's health. Obviously, anyone is welcome to refer to the situation in their own country or globally. This isn't an England only thread!!

Just to give a bit of background, I found this article which is slightly old now but gives a bit of background.

@Orf1abc

Practically every point raised is a funding issue. That's the fault of the government and the people that vote for this government.

While you're all going on about 'woke', you're completely ignorant to essential healthcare services being eroded through privatisation and insufficient funding. Please take your blinkers off, and focus on what really matters.

It matters that females are potentially being denied access to health services that they NEED because male 'wants' are being put above that.

@GlomOfNit

Healthcare aimed at women that informs, supports, allows women to make balanced and informed choices.

Stop 'othering' women, stop relying on trials and studies that cut female participants out altogether because of their inconvenient state of hormonal flux. Stop misusing language to erase women and their unique experience as biological women.

GPs need to have perimenopause and menopause training and be up to date on therapies on offer. I mean, only 50% of their patients will eventually go through this ...

No mixed-sex wards, under any guise. The vast majority of the population do not want this.

Can't better GlomOfNit 's post.

We could all write to Amanda Pritchard and tell her our thoughts, not just leave them here for each other.

I'd definitely echo the 'enough of wokeness, get us back to reality' expressed above. TBH I've always wanted to see the return of proper matrons, not the mamby-pamby 'modern matrons' but the old-fashioned Hattie Jacques in the Carry On films type of matron who took no shit from anyone.

Sex matters. From medication testing and diagnostic standards through to PPE design and patient care.

Covered in other threads, ask about access to GP services, and in particular telephone consultations only offered within very wide time bands (say four hours), which are unsuitable for women in many of the jobs they disproportionately do (in a shop, or a teacher, for example).

But that is irrelevant to this thread. The chief exec of NHS England has no control over government funding. She knows as well as we all do that the service needs more money. That is something to tell your MP, not Amanda Pritchard.

Most people posting here are calling for changes and policies that are within her remit. Far from being blinkered, they are the ones making relevant and practical suggestions.

@DoingItMyself

Woman, women, breasts, breastfeeding. No compromise.
Women to be able to choose a born female-healthcare provider.
No mixed-sex wards, single sex 'bays' aren't protections enough.

Yip
