Bit of a first world problem, but it's the endless drip drip thing. Today, I had farming explained to me by a man in great detail, despite knowing that my family have been in farming for hundreds of years. I managed not to do something to him, but Lord alive, I'm beginning to think I just need to avoid anything that could lead to conversation with any bloke other than DH. Actually, I didn't start the conversation, he interrupted a conversation we were having with a cafe owner, who we know well and have only just seen after the last shut down. Anyone have a good shut down response, that doesn't involve actual prison time? Only half joking...

Some start young as well.

DD was at the skate park when a younger boy, say about 12, started boy-splaining how to do the move she'd been doing for the last 10 minutes, despite clearly not being able to do it himself.

Well the response I gave my DD was to say "OK show me then". That one might have been very specific to where she was and what was being boy-splained though

I wish I'd read this advice a week or so ago. I got mansplained how a clitoris works and how it has a hood over it, meaning its harder to have an orgasm. My jaw was on my lap at the ridiculousness of the situation. Twat just keep on and on, while looking at my open mouth, thinking he was telling me something I didn't know about the female anatomy.

Oh he wasn't a date. He's an old friend who is actually 73 and been married twice. I'm keeping him at arm's length from now on though.

My husband reads a paper newspaper, whereas I tend to read the news online.

Dick swinging is hilarious, also at work I see men behaving in a way that reminds me of dogs sniffing each others bums. Kind of a standoffish swagger. Plus masculine body language where they push their pelvis forward makes me laugh too. I can't imagine the female equivalent. Pointing at the nipples maybe?

At least your dh doesn't do it. Mine mansplained (wrongly) the topic of my PhD (totally not his field).When I said he was wrong and asked where he had read that, he said that was just what he thought.

I call it willy waving, rather than dick swinging. The female equivalent, though quite rare is titty waving, by progression :)

I think there is some research somewhere that shows this is how men generally communicate with each other. It comes across differently when they communicate with women, as women tend to have a different communication style. Obviously, I generalise.

I wish I could remember where I read about this.
