Feminism: chat

Weird categorising of threads

Just wondering if we ever got an answer to how they decided which threads to put in which section (chat vs s&g)? I assumed that s&g was just going to be for discussions of how womens rights are affected by trans ideology, but I just searched up a bunch of old threads on completely unrelated topics and they seem to be in that section as well. For example threads about feminism and climate change, the burden on women of the push to avoid UPFs, a thread discussing the organisation 'black mothers matter' etc. Just wondering why these ended up in s&g rather than chat? I thought I understood the new system but now I'm confused on what to post where.

The sex and gender section is the old feminist chat, so there are lots of old threads in there. I guess they might slowly check each one and choose which section to put it in.

Oh I see, I thought they'd actually gone through the historic threads and sorted them into their most appropriate section rather than it just being the plan for future threads. Makes sense now, thanks.

There's a post from Michael Mumsnet who basically said they're working on it.

It’s pretty strange , but relates to how certain people have strange definitions of why sex is not important. It was a crazy idea as feminism is based on the idea that being female is crucial to defining our rights. It makes no sense to split the threads . At least you can now get from one to the other easily!

I trawled back a little way through threads I'd started, reported the first post of ones which seemed to have landed on the wrong board asking for it to be moved, and they all pretty promptly were. So if there are any you started you're bothered about, try that.

No I wasn't bothered by it, just made me question if I'd understood the new rules. Also I saw someone on a different thread sneering that there were hundreds of pages of threads on sex and gender and only 3 pages of threads on feminism chat and that this was proof that we're all obsessed etc. I thought that sounded wrong so I went to check and realised that the sex and gender bit contained lots of threads in the "wrong" section.

I wish we could just click on one section ‘Feminism’, and have all threads in both sections visible.
It’s really clunky having to go to one board and then the other. Are you not allowed to mention sex or gender under feminism chat? Surely it’s hard to chat about feminism without mentioning sex or gender?
Are we allowed to chat on the SG board or do we have to debate? Where do non GC feminists debate or they only allowed to chat. Hmm
It feels that women’s voices and language are being put under a level of control beyond the whole ‘no debate’ issues that have caused this schism.
I understand why MN have done it (lots of pressure from groups....) but I don’t see this as a solution that will solve any of the issues MN feel they need to resolve or seen to be taking action.

How to we get from one to the other easily? Have I missed a shortcut?
