Such a horrendous story where a girl of 15 died, with compressions to her neck, but only three years in prison? Crazy.

He admitted the charges and still only got 3 years. He got her so drunk she couldn't sit on a bench, or speak. But he had a train to catch so he left her. I think we should start collecting these excuses.

What the actual fuck?! Surely he could have made a 999 call to summon help as he hopped it?

I was shocked to read the details of this case, that poor girl. BBC Scotland radio only said he'd left her and she died due to exposure, clearly a lot more went on. Plus, the sentence, bloody hell.

She didn't die of the compressions, she died of hypothermia.

That poor poor girl, what a way to die and I don't think we're reading the full story. What an absolute shit of a man, I'm sure she won't be his last victim.

It's absolutely awful that her parents lost their 15 year old and also had to listen to him say that she spent her final night having this oaf bite her breasts and compress her neck, as if this is anything a 15 year would suggest she wanted him to do on a first meeting. It's all so porn soaked and desperately sad.

I am outraged by this sentence.
This man goomed this child online, persuaded her to catch a train to meet him, plied her with vodka, until she was totally inebriated, sexually assualted her, applied neck compression and left her on a bench in a park in below zero temperatures.

Three years!!! And he will be out in 18 months.

Its fucking awful, and we've only got his word she wanted any of it.

I can think of plenty of Scots, male and female, who'd consider themselves very much upstanding citizens, who would probably be of the opinion that she knew what she was doing so what did she expect? Nowadays they might not say it out loud but they'll definitely think it. There's a mean, puritanical streak in our psyche.
