Noel Clarke sexual harassment allegations, suspended by BAFTA

🤬🤬🤬

Especially galling that BAFTA was seemingly made aware of this before giving him his very recent honour. I watched his acceptance speech and found it really moving in terms of celebrating a working class black man’s success in a historically white industry. Turns out he’s an (alleged) sexual abuser. Fucking great.

Every time I read that stupid "educate myself" apology it gives me the rage Angry
As if men harass women because they haven't been educated that its wrong. Idiot.

Tomfoolery.

Bet there is one grizzled auld tortoise on ‘skidding on slippy stuff’ who loves that kind of tomfoolery.

Tomfoolery. It doesn’t cut it cap’n.

The end of preachy , hypocritical celebrities
The way some of them have been acting throughout the pandemic has been the height of hypocrisy. Able to get their hair done during lockdown (cos its for work) jetting off and having parties (because they can afford to pay the fines) will have contributed to the shift we are now seeing.

The BBC isn’t a good place to work for women

I can't say I'm surprised, look how they did nothing despite all the allegations against Savile. I'm sorry this happened OhReally.

I'm feeling ever more convinced that refusing to pay the BBC license fee is the right thing to do.

I just don't watch BBC programmes anymore unless they're on whatever streaming service I'm paying for and I don't watch live tv - no big deal - can't say I miss it much.

I really feel for everyone on that production (apart from Clarke). I understand from friends who were actors that working on a series like this can pay the bills for one year.

With the latest revelations about the Martin Bashir/Diana interview and the subsequent cover up the BBC is looking in a very precarious position.

Reservations I may have about Sky but they don't pussy foot about, I remember their decisive action and quick sackings of Andy Gray and Richard Keys both of whom thought they were Sky Sports Football and too big to be got rid of.

BBC are still covering up for some 'beloved' national icons. It'll come out once they die.

I am sure they are.

Interesting development. I hope more production companies do the same.

Why is this in S and G?

@SpringCrocus

Why is this in S and G?

I was wondering that too

Because Clarke picked his victims by their sex? Who can say? Mysterious.

Because it is an issue of women being discriminated against / sexually harrassed by someone of the male sex.

The title given by mumsnet is meaningless. This is, as you will see from the actual web link, womens rights, so we discuss women's rights issues here.

Nobody is "debating gender". Its not clear why mumsnet is under the impression any one is.

They set up the "chat" thread for those who seem to find discussing women's sex based rights challenging.

(Although they may move this thread as they are trying desparately to make chat credible and this is a nice long thread)

@SpringCrocus

Why is this in S and G?

Because it's an old thread that by default is in S & G. I think Stumbled is right though, it will be probably be moved because it's not sng. Personally, it should stay because most of the posters in this section would remember this thread.

Agreed - they need us to make out how well used mumsnet talk is, but on the other hand dont want anyone to know we exist.

And that we can think for ourselves and not be hearded like passive sheep into a divisive and unnecessary split.

Long live FWR!

My question was a rhetorical one. 😉🤣

Well, I've reported it, it has around 20 posts that mention woke issues in passing, specifically to do with NC, out of nearly 900. And it was posted in Feminism Chat, back in the good old days.
So why move it? Its a terrific discussion thread about Feminism.

Hi all,

We're just moving this over to feminism chat. Flowers

And yes, he allegedly picked his alleged victims for alleged sexual harrassment by SEX. He knew what sex was, for that.

@mumsnethq

@Cwenthryth

On what basis have you moved this thread. Did the original OP ask you to do it.

Just two comment from posters who have their own view isn't the basis on which to do something.

Its just rude.

And if anyone who is on chat wants a thread on a topic why dont they just start one, instead of complaing on a thread that isn't theres and belong of the women's rights thread.

Well done for illustrating yet again the dogs dinnet you have created - and the lack of respect you are showing to contributors.

If that comment was aimed at me, @stumbledin, I am not a creep. Nor have I appropriated any one elses work.

This thread was originally posted in Feminism chat, before the arbitrary, unnecessary split of Feminist posts into Chat and S and G.

I asked MNHQ why they had moved, (or left) this thread in S and G, when according to their own policies it wasn't discussing (I will not use the word "debate") Sex and Gender (ie anything MNHQ thinks/is told is about Trans issues)

It was discussing Feminism, so why, according to their rules, had they moved it to here?

If the rules are there for us, surely they are there for @MNHQ, also?

And for the record, if you look at my posting history, you will see I am proud to stand up for the rights of natal born, adult human female women.

Who made you the dictator of which thread is "real"?

If MN want to do this ridiculous system, then everyone (MN and posters) have to abide by "the rules"

Including you.

This seems more about YOU not getting your own way, and being angry at others who use logic and arguement correctly to discuss issues with @MNHQ.

And frankly, you are just making yourself look angry at the wrong target, now.
