previous Sertraline user here.
I was on 50mg when for two weeks, then went up to 75mg for two weeks and settled on 100mg.
it does get easier, and if it doesn’t then you possibly need to try something else. It worked really well for me whilst I needed it, and was on it for just over a year.

I will say the side effects coming off Sertraline were horrendous, I tapered off really gradually but it’s put me off going back on anything again. Huge withdrawals.

hi Wealllikevindaloo can i ask why you went up from 50mg to 75mg them 100mg
was it because 50 and 75 were not working for you
and how much percentage wise did it help with your anxiety at 100mg
i am currently taking 50mg but its early days so am praying 50 mg with be enough

I started on 50mg last month. It'll be 3 weeks on Monday. Side effects haven't been as tough as I expected but I don't really feel better yet, which I know is to be expected but it's frustrating even so! Today, for example, I feel like I've got almost no improvement because my mood is fairly low and my anxiety is holding me back. Then again it's been a long week and I really challenged my comfort zone so maybe I just need to lie low and regroup for a couple of days. Did a bit of work yesterday and this morning, and it's client-facing, so that also meant I had to put my anxiety in the cupboard for a bit! But it's tiring. Right now I'm in a caff and trying to decide if I should make the most of the sunshine and have a decent walk, or just grab some shopping and scurry home. My anxiety is telling me to do the latter but I'm so sick of avoiding life.

Hope you're getting on OK today OP. Do you feel any better yet?

@NeatAnt Yes, feel great on 50mg. Been on it about 18 months or so now. Just feel my old self again. I didn't feel the need to go up any further and I'm now wondering whether to think about coming off it.

It made a massive difference to me - before I felt anxious, panicky, twitchy, couldn't sit still for no apparent reason. I just felt utterly shit. The sertraline stopped all that and I just felt calm again. Not doped up or flat - just normal.

I made gradual increase in dose to find the dose that actually worked for me, reduced the anxiety to a point I wasn’t constantly worried about everything. You just have to give yourself time and be patient with yourself. It’s not an easy way out it’s a helping hand to feeling normal.

Hope you’re doing ok.
