I'm so confused. Moods all over the place.. mostly low. I don't no what's real and what isn't. I'm agitated and irritable. Hearts racing as is my mind and thoughts. Everything's going 100 miles an hour. Seeing things in the corner of my eye, thinking people are in my house..hearing footsteps.. thinking people have broken in. Seeing relating messages eg I'm thinking of something and the exact words come into a song on the radio, or if I'm thinking of my neighbours last name randomly it happends to be on a sign or van.
Struggling to make simple decisions, forgetting appointments, jumping one idea to the next, eating is all over the place iv lost 10lbs this month, I'm so bloody tired and exhausted, I don't go out unless absolutely necessary due to paranoid thoughts and huge anxiety. I feel so spaced out and floaty, I don't feel connected to myself or the normal outside world it feels fake.
I have borderline personality disorder anyway along with depression anxiety.

Whay counts as a mental health crisis? Am I having this?

I would recommend speaking to a health care professional as soon as possible. Even if it's phoning NHS 111 or getting yourself to the pharmacy to tell someone. I'm sorry this is happening. If you need to speak to someone urgently please phone Samaritans 116 123. They will listen and not pass judgement.

Are you in a safe place right now? Try to take a deep breath.

Would you like to talk here for a bit? Would that help? It sounds tough for you

Scutterbug · 02/10/2024 11:10

Do you have anybody who can come over for a bit? Look after your little one so you can bake a call for support. Are you under the CMHT?

My ex husbands over soon for contact with my little one. He's the reason I'm in this mess.. he triggers me off... he's emotionally abusive and at times can be verbally. Not under any help or support at all.

OP, it sounds like you are having a psychotic episode. As you are caring for a young child, you will be prioritised. I would call NHS 111 as PP suggested, or your local mental health crisis team. Help is out there. You are safe, you just need a little help with it. Sending hugs.

Mischance · 02/10/2024 11:20

Could you make a list of these problems and speak to the GP? - maybe initially via 111. It is important to have your problems clearly listed when you see him/her as it is easy to get in a tangle in these situations.

You certainly do have some mental health problems and need some help with all this. I can vouch for the fact that Samaritans are very helpful. I hope you manage to sort the help you need.

Can you call your GP and say you're having a psychotic episode and need a same day call out/immediate referral to the crisis team/same day call back from community mental health team. Include the information that you have a baby in your sole charge and you are struggling to complete simple tasks and distinguish what's real from what isn't.

5 things to ground yourself.

Firm and positive self talk - you've got this, it will be ok, you are worth the effort - and so on. Say it out loud, doesn't matter if you don't believe it, just keep going.

Forest56 · 02/10/2024 15:43

if your not under CMHT can you phone 111 and choose option 2, they are part of MH services, they will do an assessment & get you the most appropriate help. At least that’s how it is in my area. They are 24hrs

Mischance · 02/10/2024 15:57

Samaritans will listen and signpost you to help.
Or contact 111 or GP as advised above.
Have your original post onscreen when you ring and read from that so they can be clear of the nature of the problems.
I hope that you are able to find the help you need.

EmmaOvary · 02/10/2024 19:00
