Anxiety wickedly out of control this week and I’ve been buzzing like a fly and know I need a rest day binge watching anything to slow my mind down. Any good Netflix recommends? Nothing horror as my mind is playing horrid tricks just now ☹️Thank you

Have you seen The Gilmore Girls? Virgin River is another feel good too.

Eyesopenwideawake · 14/03/2023 21:18

Not Netflix but this might help;

BangingOn · 14/03/2023 21:28

How about Derry Girls? I hope you feel brighter for a day of rest.

tealgate · 14/03/2023 21:30

Bonus Family. Soft Swedish series with family relationships?

wobblymum1 · 14/03/2023 21:36

Thank you so much, and for helping me feel less
alone in my head ☹️

Heartstopper

LilLilLi · 14/03/2023 21:38

Schitts Creek helps calm me down.

JingsMahBucket · 14/03/2023 21:39

My comfort watch is Foyle’s War. Miss Fisher’s Mysteries as well.

wobblymum1 · 14/03/2023 21:40

I’m going to try all these, I need to stop the constant buzzing in my head ☹️

Schitts Creek is really gentle to watch and only 20 minutes an episode so it’s my go to when my anxiety kicks in.

Are you on any medication?x

LadyMargaretDevereux · 14/03/2023 21:43

Brooklyn 99 always makes me smile.

I’ve seen that advertised
so will give it a go.
not just now, other than Valium but it’s only for short term and can only use one when it’s a proper panic attack. I’ve tried sertraline but it just made me horribly nauseous and didn’t seem to help my anxiety at all. on waiting list for CBT and generally just try and get through the day ☹️☹️

@wobblymum1 I really sympathise, anxiety is fucking horrible.

I used propanalol for a while - it’s not an anti depressant so no horrible side effects, it’s a beta blocker and just stops the physical symptoms of anxiety. Might be worth a try?

Silkierabbit · 14/03/2023 21:47

I love Below Deck that helped get me through cancer.

Silkierabbit · 14/03/2023 21:48

I find swimming helps a lot, go to a hotel pool which has jacuzzi and sauna

Mumzoo5070 · 14/03/2023 21:49

Don't watch Fall.

Roomsharing · 14/03/2023 21:54

Emily in Paris, The Holidate (film), Bridgerton, Benidorm….all are completely easy watching.

It’s not on Netflix, but see if you can find Friday Night Dinner - I love that when I’m not feeling great.

Hope you’re feeling better soon!

wobblymum1 · 14/03/2023 21:56

You are
all so so kind thank you.

i watched fall 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️Didn’t help me 🤣

I’ve tried beta blockers But they didn’t do much more than take a tiny edge off. Only thing that really seems to help me is Valium but that’s obviously not a long term solution. I hate inside my head sometimes ☹️

iplayer. The detectorists.
gentle, easy but actually really funny english show. my go to when ill with covid and very anxious with the first lockdown. Toby Jones and Gareth whatshisface (tall lanky fella)

LittleAIexHorne · 14/03/2023 21:59

I don’t have an anxiety issue, but anytime I’m feeling anxious or stressed, I love a programme with subtitles. Having to read as I watch gives me something to concentrate on, and stops the little stressy voices inside my head.

With that in mind, I’d recommend Bonus Family, or The Empress.

squishee · 14/03/2023 21:59

A Series of Extraordinary Events. Gentle comedy drama to doze off to.

wobblymum1 · 14/03/2023 22:09

Amazing, thank you

The Makanai. A Japanese series about a young woman who cooks food for a Maiko (junior geisha) house. Very relaxed, nice food, lovely Kyoto scenery.

EmmaEmerald · 14/03/2023 22:15

I have anxiety and Schitts Creek was suggested here, the first five minutes were so irritating I had to switch it off.

What sort of thing do you like?

for light hearted funny films, there's Bank of Dave, Cuban Fury and It's Complicated. I love Emily in Paris if you want a series.
