Citalopram cold turkey - what to expect?

I'm a bit nervous. I've been taking citalopram 30 mg for two years and due to an unfortunately timed bill, I can't get my refill until next Tuesday. I'm on day 3 without. My head feels stuffy and I cried three times so far today - about Ukraine, a homeless man on the radio, and when the pharmacy told me they can't give me a few days' worth of the pills on credit, to tide me over to pay day. Definitely more tearful than usual!!
I'm in Ireland so can't afford to go to the doctor either, so I'm not sure what to do. I've been taking care to notice and acknowledge any dark thoughts and I'll make sure to exercise and eat well but I'm scared of what might come. Has this happened to anyone? Is there anything else I can do?

I just wanted to pull this thread up again because the sweetest thing happened when I went for my refill at the end of March. The assistant handed it to me and said her goodbyes. I was halfway out the door when I realised I hadn't paid, so went back. She said it was definitely paid for already so she looked at the record and apparently another lady from the shop had paid for it the day I collected my previous refill. I'm pretty sure I know who it was as I was talking with her about the medical card and of course I started crying and ran out of the shop with the mortification of it. I left my number asking that she call me to arrange to pay her back but she didn't call. I want to do something to thank her. Shouldn't I? Any ideas?

Oh that’s so lovely of her! I would guess she doesn’t want the money but maybe a gift to say thank you? Someone bought me an Iris bulb and pot once as a thank you. Even once the flower was dead I kept the bowl, still have it years later. Maybe something like that?

I'd get those hens to work as a thank you...

That’s so lovely.

I’ve forgotten to request repeats for sertraline before and found myself without a few days. It’s been hideous and can imagine citalopram is similar. Very glad you’re all sorted now!

That's so nice of someone to do that.

I'm currently tapering off citalopram and the withdrawal symptoms are awful. I've been doing it really slowly too, over several weeks. Stopping abruptly must be terrible!

Glad you're sorted now.
