is it one of those things if you're not really sure then you probably aren't?

Well I'm glad you're feeling better, and many of us have got upset and come on here and bawled about something. You also said last night that you'd calm down the next day I've done that as well before now.

But it doesn't change anything we've said about talking to the GP. Do think about it.

i know what i'm like ... get hysterical then feel like an idiot. pretty standard

i almost wish it wasn't so shortlived cos then i'd probably be a lot less in denial about it all. it's hard to accept that it's real when it only lasts for a few hours.

Sounds perhaps a bit more like anxiety attacks, which are a form of depression. My DH had them last year - he's be in an absolute state, and a few hours later would claim to be completely fine. He took ADs for it in the end.

I'm glad you're feeling better, addicted.

I sometimes feel like this when I'm having a really bad PMT or some other hormonal-type meltdown (or even a hangover).

It scares me at the time because I did suffer from severe depression when I was younger (was hospitalised three times) and I wonder if I'm going back down that road - but then it eases back off again, thank f. Do you get this often? Could it be a new year blues thing?

not really often - every month or so.
