Talking changes inaccuracies

Debsdonein · 07/11/2021 09:07

Really struggling with my mental health at the minute.
Finished a course with Talking Changes which was helpful to a degree.
Got a letter from them that has also been sent to my GP regarding my sessions and what we spoke about.
There are so many inaccuracies in this report also things that I was told was in confidence.
Am i within my rights to challenge this?

Hey - sorry you’re struggling right now. I don’t know what Talking Changes is, but it looks like this might be better in mental health than AIBU. You can report your own post and ask for it to be moved. Have an internet hug if you want one - {hug}

They normally ask if you are happy for them to contact your GP before the start of the sessions?
You can ask for inaccuracies to be corrected if you think it is worthwhile.

Thank you. Not sure how I ask for it to be changed over 🙈

They did ask if they could let doctor know I had received sessions but I didn't think it would be a word for word account. For example Debsdonein has a strained relationship with her brother but not all the reasoning behind it.

That sounds wrong to me. I would definitely chase this up. They should not be telling your GP what you talked about in a confidential counselling session Shock - unless it was something like "her marriage" or "her job".

I think if you click on your own post on "report" you can ask for it to be moved to the mental health section. Good luck.

I wouldn’t be happy with this, things about diagnosis yes but definitely not details. I’d be very upset if this happened to me.

We're moving this thread over to our Mental Health topic for the OP (and giving it a bump).
