This is all my heart rate data from yesterday. Is this going to harm me? Yes I've posted here before so please don't have a go at me. My Dr is constantly telling me I'm ok, to me... This isn't ok, if you look up tachycardia it can be very dangerous.

I've had a heart scan which Showed my heart is structurally fine. I had a 24 hour ecg which showed numbers like this, sinus tachycardia. I'm lying awake at night shaking because I'm so scared, I know I have anxiety right now but a year ago I didn't have any anxiety and I was happy but the rates were still like this.

I don't know what to do, I'm scared of living this way forever. I don't want to develop heart failure.

I'm 26 btw

Thank you for reading

I don’t see what’s wrong with those numbers at all. Sometimes your heart beats faster sometimes it beats slower. It looks fine, it isn’t tachycardia - 130bpm isn’t even very fast.

Presumably a doctor knows what is and isn’t fine when it comes to heart rate etc and if they say you are fine then you probably are.

You need to get help for your anxiety not for your heart.

theSliceOfPie · 09/07/2021 07:22

From what I see your bpm is highest between 10 and 11pm. Is that when you are led in bed feeling anxious?

I would talk to your gp about your anxiety. I wouldn't worry about your heart rate from those readings.

Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:24

@Bobbots. When I wake up in the morning my heart rate is like 110, I'll walk to the bathroom and it jumps higher. If I go for a short walk it's like 168. When resting on the sofa it's never below 90. Drops below 90 in my sleep.

I'm scared it's going to kill me
Even a shower makes It jump to 140-150.

How is this not going to tire my heart out?

@theSliceOfPie I've probably woken up and went for a pee. I'm really worried. Online it says if you have a higher heart rate you will get cardiovascular disease...or heart failure.

I'm not too bothered about my active heart rate. I just wish my resting was better. I have been doing a lot of exercise and it hasn't changed anything :'(

I would stop testing relentlessly. This is causing you massive anxiety.

theSliceOfPie · 09/07/2021 07:34

On the last picture it says average resting range 61-76bpm. That's normal isn't it?

Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:35

@Mrstreehouse only since covid have I become anxious. I don't know what to do because I've had a heart rate like this for 8 years. My resting heart rate is 106 and has been for years. I've lost 24kg, it didn't change, I went to the gym everyday for 6 months it didn't change.

DinosaurDiana · 09/07/2021 07:36

My normal heart rate is in the high 80’s. It’s normal for me.
Your anxiety is causing this. Are you taking antidepressants for your anxiety ?

Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:36

@theSliceOfPie that is saying like the average is those numbers, not my average. Basically your resting should fall between 61-76

OP posts:
theSliceOfPie · 09/07/2021 07:37

Sorry op, I just realized my mistake.

Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:38

@DinosaurDiana is that your resting heart rate or your heart rate when you're moving about.

I taking 1.25 Bisoprolol, that's slightly reducing my heart rate. Imagine what it would be like without it...

Take the watch off xx

Mrstreehouse · 09/07/2021 07:38

You’ve ignored my point. Taking your heart rate this often is an obsession and will not help your anxiety. You should stop. Go back to the doctored of worried and get help for your health anxiety. It’s no way to live.

DinosaurDiana · 09/07/2021 07:39

Resting. You have to look at what is normal for you, our bodies don’t read the text books !

SD1978 · 09/07/2021 07:39

Your anxiety will not be helping. The average is not hugely problematic. I have similar numbers, worse when I move around (120 usually) testing is about 85-95. Not concerned about it, neither are doctors. If you're HR monitor is causing you anxiety, maybe don't wear it?

Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:40

So many people say to take the watch off. I don't understand it.

My heart rate has ALWAYS been this high, looking at my watch I understand that's fuelling my anxiety. I'm having CBT for my anxiety but if I just left my heart rate like this and forgot about it, it will kill me. It's not healthy, it's not normal. I will either have a heart attack or develop heart failure in a decade or so.

OP posts:
DinosaurDiana · 09/07/2021 07:41

So you’re on medication for high blood pressure.
If I were you, and I remember your previous posts, I’d seriously consider committing to 6 months of antidepressants to see if it helps you. My DH did a lot of research and chose to go on Citalopram.

letsmakethishappen · 09/07/2021 07:42

Take the watch off please and live be a normal life. That’s stress you’re causing yourself is so unhealthy

MichelleScarn · 09/07/2021 07:42

Has your doctor ever suggested a proper 24 hr tape? I wouldn't think a smart watch is super accurate?

Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:42

I have the watch so that I can prevent panic attacks, it actually does stop them. When I notice my heart rate is high I will take a moment to sit down and stop it from going to 172bpm like it did in January and I ended up in hospital. That's when they started the Bisoprolol - which I regret starting as when you stop taking it, you get withdrawals and that is going to make my heart go wild. I think I'd rather die anyway that go through that.

OP posts:
Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:43

@DinosaurDiana I don't have high blood pressure. The Bisoprolol is to reduce my heart rate. Sometimes it makes my blood pressure go too low.

OP posts:
Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:45

@MichelleScarn I have had 2 done one in 2015 - which showed an average heart rate is 102, low of 90 and high of 160 - not action taken.

I had another one in Jan this year and showed almost identical numbers. Average is 101, low is 91 high of 162 - I was on a small dose on beta blockers in Jan too.

Vanishun · 09/07/2021 07:49

Out of interest, what's your height/weight/body frame? I'm sure I've read that smaller/shorter people tend to have faster heartbeats.

Moxxi · 09/07/2021 07:54

I'm 5ft7 82kg and look slim.

OP posts:
Bobbots · 09/07/2021 08:00

You state that if you do nothing about your heart rate and leave it then it will kill you. How do you know that? Has a medical professional told you that? They seem to disagree by the sounds of things as they see no need to intervene.

It sounds like you are trying to control this and are scared of not being able to. Does this also apply in other areas of your life? I had health anxiety for a while although not particularly severely, it was not completely debilitating, but it would get worse whenever I was feeling stressed or out of control in other areas of my life. That is what you need help for.
