This is all my heart rate data from yesterday. Is this going to harm me? Yes I've posted here before so please don't have a go at me. My Dr is constantly telling me I'm ok, to me... This isn't ok, if you look up tachycardia it can be very dangerous.

I've had a heart scan which Showed my heart is structurally fine. I had a 24 hour ecg which showed numbers like this, sinus tachycardia. I'm lying awake at night shaking because I'm so scared, I know I have anxiety right now but a year ago I didn't have any anxiety and I was happy but the rates were still like this.

I don't know what to do, I'm scared of living this way forever. I don't want to develop heart failure.

I'm 26 btw

Thank you for reading
@Vanishun has your heart rate improved? I'm too scared to go to the gym ATM because of my heart rate :( I don't want to drop dead. Also I feel like my heart isn't getting a break since it's beating fast all the time :( xx
I have this fear as well. Although I know it's irrational as exercise definitely helps. I have been going on gentle walks rather than anything that increases my heart rate too much like gym based cardio

@wedswench how is your heart rate at the moment? Bless you

Resting is about 89 but any form of movement (even going to the kitchen, for a wee etc) was increasing it to 150+

I don't know about now as I took the watch off which really helped me mentally. I still know it gets high when I move around but I have breathing exercises I do when I start thinking obsessing and that calms me down

Yes I've just looked at Fitbit and it's lowered - my resting heart rate (the one at night) used to be in the high 80s and is now high 60s.

For me, crucially, exercise had to be fun and easy as I was terrified of a racing heart rate. I bought an indoor trampoline and just bounced on it for a few minutes here and there, then slowly upped the times. I have really strong calf muscles now, and it helps your lymph system too apparently.

I've gone from a few minutes leaving me a bit breathless to being able to do an hour of boxercise or jogging on the spot and still wanting more.

I also bought a yoga ball based on a recommendation on here and I sit or bounce on that in the evenings too, which has helped tone my stomach.

I have had similar issues, and I'm so sorry. It is scary.

I was hyperthyroid initially. I had a tumour, and my thyroid was eventually removed. However, I still have tachycardia to this day.
I've had 24 hr ECGs, and all manner of tests.

I now have propranolol for significant episodes,
My Mum had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which they are aware of.
Other than that, they aren't interested.
It's incredibly frustrating.

That's amazing! I am hoping to change my exercise routine. Will a walk a day help? I'm scared to do anything too intense :( @wedswench sounds like me. Scary isn't if :(

It really is scary. I convinced myself that it was better to be fat and sedentary than do any exercise and increase my heart rate.

It's a horrible place to be.

As @Nextlevelnonsense says, propanolol really helps me. When I started it my resting heart rate was 54 and then I worried I was bradycardic!

Above all. Take the watch off!

Vanishun · 09/07/2021 19:22

Walking is one of the very best things you can do, yes! Start small and build up to 10k a day.

Bounces on a yoga ball "count" as steps too Smile

I only really see him once a year now as I haven’t had any problems. I had to see him every few weeks in pregnancy though due to issues I was having that were triggered by the pregnancy as such but all was well heart wise at the end of it I just needed to change medication and doses for the duration!

@Nextlevelnonsense what is your heart rate like currently? Bless you xx
