I hope no-one minds me starting a follow up thread. I know some people were waiting for me to update so I thought I would but happy to ask MNHQ to delete if one of the long term posters wanted to start it 😊

I only know it's been released so far but although I work in the hospital obviously I'm not allowed to view my own records/results so I've made a telephone appointment with my GP for the results. I'm not sure what time, I just know it'll be this morning so I'm on tenterhooks waiting to hear from him

@polkadotpixie That's so crazy that you can't look at your own results! But it does make sense!

Also it's really hard to read things when you don't know what you're looking at.

I remember when I had one of my final x-rays for my lymphoma, I got really stressed out because there was a massive lump right in the middle of my chest, slightly to the left I think. And the consultant was like that... "that's your heart". 😳😳😬

AJ297 · 09/03/2021 10:35

Morning all. Good luck with your results @polkadotpixie.

I'm anxious today, I have my appointment at the breast clinic tomorrow. I think the lumps may be going down slowly. Although the one on my left armpit I keep thinking is matted to another I think it's just because it's underneath ligaments and muscle because when I move in a certain direction I can feel the circular shape. Going to try avoid poking today so it's not painful tomorrow. I have bruises in symmetrical shapes on my boobs from prodding 😳

Skyliner001 · 09/03/2021 10:50

@AJ297 I have a weird lumpy bit in my armpit on both sides, but the left-hand side is bigger than the right? It's a movable bit, that feels like breast tissue and other bits of the breast, but it stresses me out all the time. Please feedback about the breast clinic, I know you will be just fine! I hope you get lots of reassurance and information though, I know how hard it is to refer back to it when you are in the moment though, it's easy to forget everything you're told!

Skyliner001 · 09/03/2021 10:51

I don't think that that means a lump is matted by the way, I imagine the lumpy bit is just under other tissue. Loads of my lumpy bits like that X

polkadotpixie · 09/03/2021 11:20

I've spoken to my GP and the results are mixed. The MRI says it looks like an atypical endometrioma. Obviously the atypical bit has frightened me and I've Googled and apparently they can be a precursor to ovarian cancer so I'm shitting myself about that but the GP said there's nothing to suggest that's what it is. It just says clinical correlation is required and I don't know what that means. I'm seeing the Gynae consultant at 9:15am on Thursday so I will ask him

I was really hoping to feel better but I don't, I'm still terrified to be honest. I hope they agree to take it out as I want it gone

Skyliner001 · 09/03/2021 11:27

That actually sounds positive! I know it won't seem it at all, but how good that they have found it as well. Hopefully that will mean you can just get it out, and off your mind. Hope the gynie appointment goes well X

ofwarren · 09/03/2021 11:44

@polkadotpixie
I agree with Skyliner
If it's a pre curser to anything at all then it's amazing news that they spotted it.
I would be the same in wanting it out though. Good luck with your next appointment Flowers

ofwarren · 09/03/2021 11:47

@tmh88 can I ask how you are getting on with your steroid spray?
I was told to stop using mine for a while and to just flush with saline but when I did that, it put loads more water in my ear and now I feel the dizzyness again.
I definitely think there is something wrong with my eustachian tube. Surely it's not supposed to let water in that easily? It's all crackling again now.

Hello! Hi to the newbies!!

@polkadotpixie I suspect they'll remove the cyst to be totally on the safe side of any potential it might have. But from what you say the cyst is NOT cancer so you don't have to panic!

@StooriMidori great news for you!! Who knew it was normal to get pain in one breast??!! I do wish we were actually given more reasonable health info. I know why they don't - they don't want people self diagnosing something as minor when it might not be but for all of us (and I suspect A LOT of people now) it does the opposite - we all diagnose ourself as having the WORST case thing because we don't know about the minor/normal things it most likely is!

I'm reasonably calm today after a bad couple of days. Had a consultation with the paediatrician about baby and the possible cows milk protein allergy yesterday - I've to try some dairy again & see how she reacts. This is scaring me!! The symptoms she had were extensive rash and blood in her poo - that scared the life out of me when it happened (Xmas eve) and frankly ruined Xmas! Anyhow - it's got to be done....but not until she has had jabs next week and has got over them!!

tmh88 · 09/03/2021 12:48

@ofwarren the pain is just the same but I’m not producing mucus etc in the morning now or needing to clear my throat as much in the day! However still have ear/jaw pain, dentist has cancelled tomorrow and booked me in for end of March as they’re isolating so will see what happens x

tmh88 · 09/03/2021 12:49

@polkadotpixie I agree with @Skyliner001 also! I know it’s scary still however, thinking of you Flowers

tmh88 · 09/03/2021 12:51

Hope your doing ok @onlyreadingneverposting8 babies really are a test on us aren’t they! Blush scary little things 😂 have you got someone at home you can wait to do it with to help ease your anxiety?x

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 09/03/2021 12:55

@tmh88 yes DH works from home - I've just never been in this situation before! The idea that I might cause her discomfort is counter intuitive but if she has grown out of it (most do) I don't want her growing up thinking she's allergic to something when she isn't!

tmh88 · 09/03/2021 13:00

DS grew out of an allergy we had skin prick testing etc at the hospital! I completely get the fear I was terrified to reintroduce but he was fine with it! I did however practically hyperventilate doing it with DP Blush have they given you anything to use such as an antihistamine?x

AJ297 · 09/03/2021 13:02

@Skyliner001 thank you. These feel like lymph nodes I think. Similar to the one on my neck. The one on my right is now pea sized and the one on the right quite big but because it's quite deep up I think it's getting caught in and under things giving the illusion of being different sizes and shapes depending on my positioning. I just hope it's very clear tomorrow what they are because doubt is my worst enemy, I need a definite. They both move about, the smaller one is quite hard but despite what dr google says I don't think I've ever had a lymph node pop up that I would call soft as such. I'm just in a constant cycle of reassurance and despair.

AJ297 · 09/03/2021 13:04

@onlyreadingneverposting8 how old is your little one? My oldest had CMPA and it's was horrible. She did grow out of it though and is fine now

tmh88 · 09/03/2021 13:08

@AJ297 I have quite a few lymph nodes in my neck all different sizes! Ultrasound showed them to be normal x I know what you mean we imagine soft as like squishy but actually to a dr I think soft means not hard like a rock! I’m happy to be corrected on that though as I have no medical training 😂

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 09/03/2021 13:11

@AJ297 she's just 4 months - I breastfeed so the paediatrician wants me to try dairy before weaning so we know whether we need to keep her dairy free until a year old.

AJ297 · 09/03/2021 13:16

@tmh88 thank you so much, yeah I think that's what I get the impression of. Like saying they shouldn't be rubbery but they all feel slightly rubbery to me 😂 I'm so so glad I found this thread, it's so nice to be able to just say what I'm worrying about and get reassurance from people who have been in the same position.

@onlyreadingneverposting8 aww it's horrible isn't it, good luck with it, I really feel for you. I was really worried about trying things but was actually quite surprised by how quickly it disappeared!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 09/03/2021 13:44

@tmh88 no antihistamine. Probs because it's probably on the milder end and she'll be getting dairy through me not directly.

Skyliner001 · 09/03/2021 14:48

All my lymph nodes I can feel are rubbery. I think if soft as like a cushion or bed!

AJ297 · 09/03/2021 14:57

@Skyliner001 same! That's reassuring thank you. Every time I feel better it's like I think if I go in thinking I'll be fine and it's nothing then I'm basically jinxing myself

Skyliner001 · 09/03/2021 16:19

@AJ297 It's so interesting on this thread isn't it, because that's exactly how I feel to. There are so many elements with how people feel here, and what we share with each other that really resonates. Tempting fate is a big thing for me!

Skyliner001 · 09/03/2021 16:19

I guess what I'm saying is it's not just the physical symptoms that we all have that resonate with me, but also the way our brains work!
