Feeling very alone

I'm feeling very alone. I hear voices, and they're very strong at the moment,, plus I have depression and suicidal thoughts (partly because of the voices). I can't bring myself to phone the crisis team.

Thanks - I see my care coordinator later today too

Good luck today Snowy. 🍀

Yesterdayforgotten · 28/01/2020 14:28

That's a great first step Snowy! Good luck for today!!

SnowyMouse · 28/01/2020 17:10

Thanks all. I was honest with her. I might be going to the day hospital. And try to talk to my GP tomorrow about things.

I’m so glad you were able to be honest. It’s not always easy but they can’t help if you don’t tell them what’s going on. Good luck with GP.

SnowyMouse · 28/01/2020 17:37

Thanks Wolfiefan. It's easier with my care coordinator as I can argue times where she's been kind before when the voices are being negative. I'm concerned about the risk assessment for the day hospital, what if they say my risk is too high?

OP posts:
SnowyMouse · 28/01/2020 19:11

I'm also anxious about talking to the GP, in case she thinks I'm high risk.

Wolfiefan · 28/01/2020 19:27

If you’re honest then they will be able to assess the risk properly. That’s all you can do. Good luck.

SnowyMouse · 28/01/2020 19:32

Thanks, I hope it goes well, or as well as it can. I can't get a medication review with the psychiatrist until they change teams, so the GP may or may not be able to help.

Wolfiefan · 28/01/2020 20:03

Hope they can.

SnowyMouse · 28/01/2020 20:41

Care coordinator suggested asking for lorazepam, I'm not sure if that's a gp thing.

I've been up since 4. Anxious about getting there and back and about what to say.

Good luck Snowy and I'm sure the GP will do everything they can. I suppose no harm in asking if they can prescribe it.

SnowyMouse · 29/01/2020 08:54

Thanks yesterday. I'm outside waiting now. I've written a short list on my phone.

That's a good idea. I always find my mind goes blank or I forget to say something and remember afterwards and prompts are useful at these things. Let us know how you get on. I think you're doing amazingly well!

Wolfiefan · 29/01/2020 11:11

Hope it went well.

SnowyMouse · 29/01/2020 14:41

My GP refused to let me leave, and kept me in a room for 2 hours. They threatened a MH act assessment if I didn't go to the MH hospital to be seen, so I did (not much choice). They've increased my antipsychotic and given me some lorazepam.. And daily contact at the moment. They did ask if I wanted to go in informally, which I don't.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 29/01/2020 14:42

They weren’t threatening. They are actually trying to help you. I hope the dose increase and change of meds help.

SnowyMouse · 29/01/2020 14:48

I know they're trying to keep me safe (as my GP said many times this morning). It's just the voices make it feel unsafe to trust them. I hope the dose change helps too, as I was reminded hospital is still an option.

I just need to vent really...the voices become overwhelming, and people posting here gives me something to challenge them with.

So sorry Snowy but your gp surgery are looking after you well by doing everything they can to keep you safe. The mind isna strange thing and please know that these voices if your mind playing tricks on you. It sounds like you have a good doctor that is supporting you well I hope the increase dose goes some way in helping you alittle.

Yesterdayforgotten · 29/01/2020 17:27

Should say is not if above

Yesterdayforgotten · 29/01/2020 17:28

Everytime you hear these voices that torment you tell yourself they are not real and it is your mind playing tricks on you. The doctors help us very real and they ate looking out for you. I hope you feel alittle better soon Flowers

Yesterdayforgotten · 29/01/2020 17:30

Meant to read is and are above (I will blame my toddler for my typing errors!)

SnowyMouse · 29/01/2020 17:32

The GP said it's just chemicals, not a real voice. I hadn't met that particular psychiatrist before, so it was good that he increased the meds, they might have wanted to wait and see.
