Hi , first time I been on mumsnet I have a 17 yr old girl and a 2 yr old girl I’ve suffered with anxiety for almost 4 year and currently having a massive panic attack which began yesterday tea time when I started choking on my tea , I got the food up myself but then was convinced some was still in my throat that sent me into a massive meltdown , I had all the usual symptoms heart racing sweating. Tingling , it lasted all night I eventually went to sleep and when I woke up this morning it started all over again! I’ve not eaten all day because I’m paranoid I’m going to choke ! I’m on amitryptoline tablets and I’ve had cbt therapy my health anxiety started off by convincing myself I had a brain tumour ! The I moved on to the choking issue and at the same time I’ve convinced myself I have mnd ! I feel so alone , my husband tries to understand but I know he finds it difficult it would be nice to speak to someone who is going through the same , thanks xx

I have a while ago, much more agreeable than Setraline for me x

Annelena · 07/02/2020 18:29

The docs put me on them but the side effects are really bad, I just feel like a zombie I've asked to come off them and go back to sertraline xx

Sometimes I think
My anxiety wouldn't be as bad if i wasn't with my husband !

@Annelena - the key phrase is your first sentence. Sometimes I think.....

We all think. It is whether we buy into our thoughts that is the issue.

Do you sometimes think you wouldn’t be better without him?

Does the thinking come with a feeling of agitation or calm?

I ask as our wisdom shows through when we are calmer and agitated thoughts are usually just our markers to tell us our state of kind is lower.

Hope you are ok x

Thankyou I am ok , and as I've calmed down and rationalised things I know I'm just a normal wife that's got annoyed with there husband , I'm eating now which is great for me I can actually enjoy a meal ! I'm not quite at the meaty steak part but I'm eating things like rice, chicken , quiche, veg, chips, anything really apart from the chewy meat which for the time been I can live with, got my 3 rd session of hypnotherapy tmro see how that goes , hope everyone on this page is doing good too ? Xx

Hi

I'm so sorry you feel like this. I get it because I'm the same. Literally one fear is replaced by another. It's debilitating.

I just want you to know you're not alone x

Mumma1984 · 16/02/2020 21:34

@Annelena very interested to hear how Your hypnotherapy goes! I've been meaning to try this for my crippling health anxiety xx

Annelena · 16/02/2020 21:40

Hi , I've had 2 hypnotherapy sessions so far and both really intense , I would say it definitely helps but in ways you don't think ! I thought I had a problem with eating and health anxiety and with the 2 sessions I've had I've realised my issues are with the death of my mum 3 year ago and strangely it's all connected ! It's hard to explain but I would recommend it , I'm 2 sessions out of 4 so I'll keep updated how tmros session goes xx

Hi again,

Sorry have been off radar with dance show for my daughter. Two down and two to go.

That is so positive @Annelena progress is progress and you have seen the up and down nature of life. Your husband hasn’t changed but your thoughts about him fluctuate all the time (as do mine). That shows it is not your husband that is causing you annoyance, more your thoughts about him. Relate that to your eating. A while ago, you had huge thoughts about eating anything solid. Now you are coping with much more. In the future you may either go full on for steak or go back to soup. All of this will be temporary and you can move on.

So glad you are having periods of feeling better.

Always happy to chat.

I am just someone who has recovered and understands why, which is why I can rationalise what is going on for you.

Glad the hypnotherapy is helping. Any way of releasing the suppressed emotions is good.

Xxx
