Has anyone done online CBT etc?

Hi,
My mental health is plummeting at a rapid rate and I'm terrified of where it may lead me. I've had CBT and counselling in the past and got to a point where I've been in a good place for the past few years but a few different events have lead to me becoming increasingly anxious and depressed.
I'm not in the UK, there is no mental health support available here unless I pay which I cant afford.
I'm looking for recommendations for any free or really low cost DIY cbt courses.

Just bumping this thread for you, OP. Hopefully some Mumsnetters will be along soon with some advice and support. Flowers

Sorry I don't but watching with interest as I'd love a similar service. The ones I've looked at online are no cheaper than seeing a regular private face to face counsellor.

Not online but the NHS has a list of recommended self help and these are CBT based. If you look up books in prescription or reading well. You can then order them.

There is a lady on Instagram (and possibly Facebook) called Anna Mather (mamas scrapbook) she is qualified and writes lots of courses and self help tips, she is ace and offers discounts on her courses for people who need it but can’t afford the full fee

Following too as seen them and wondered if they're any good

Sorry, I can't recommend any but my advice would be twofold:

  1. Be careful if you feel that something isn't right for you: bad therapy is NOT better than no therapy. Bad therapy can harm you, so check out the person/organisation/offer carefully & once you start, remember you can walk away at any time.
  1. You might find a supportive online forum useful, long- or short-term. I found several were great, at different points in my life. Look for one which talks about things which are important to you or troubling you, lurk for a bit & if it's doing you good, join in.

Good luck.

Thankyou for all your lovely replies, I've done alot of googling and cant find anything free or very low cost. I also checked out the Instagram suggested but even the discounted rate would put a big dent in my budget right now but hoping financially things will improve and ill keep it in mind.
I'm aware of how bad therapy can make things worse I saw an awful NHS therapist a few years ago who belittled me and made my health 100x worse. Thankfully at the time I was able to afford private therapy with the help of my parents. I'm now abroad and that just isn't an option.
I looked at the nhs books but would struggle to get them here so I had a look on Amazon for ones available on kindle and have found one called the CBT workbook which was only £4. Going to give it ago and will report back Smile. Hoping acknowledging the problem and actively doing something will help me prevent another complete breakdown and the unaffordable expenses that would involve
