To think I’m not starving myself!?

Last year I put on a stone in weight. Coincidentally around the time I started taking quetiapine.

I’ve recently gone cold turkey on the bastards and the weight is falling off me. I’m not trying to lose weight, my appetite has just gone back to the way it used to be.

So yesterday I had a cereal bar for breakfast. A few quality streets for lunch and a portion of fish and chips from chippy for tea ... although I only ate half of that and have saved the rest for today.

Today I didn’t have breakfast but had the left over fish and chips at 12. Tonight I’ll have a homemade burger but I don’t want chips because I’ve gone off them and I know I won’t be hungry enough.

Typical day during the week - cereal bar for breakfast. Mackerel on toast for lunch and 2 fajitas for tea.

DH drinks from red cups when they’re mine says I’m starving myself and should see a doctor. Since when did it become abnormal to only eat when you’re actually hungry?? I’ve always had a crap appetite. It’s normal for me

Come on OP, what's with the red cups?

TatianaLarina · 16/03/2019 13:22

Crap diet, but the amount seems ok.

I don’t eat a huge amount either, I don’t get very hungry.

LellowYedbetter · 16/03/2019 13:22

They were not cold, they were microwaved.

We have a set of red cups and they’re the only ones I can use so it’s annoying that he muckys them as we have plenty of others he could use.

Ok, yes I think it’s not far off snapped and farted.

PurpleDaisies · 16/03/2019 13:23

What is your weight and height now? Just because you put a stone on doesn’t mean you were overweight if you were underweight before.

Alarm bells ringing here.

ineedaholidaynow · 16/03/2019 13:23

What are in the red cups?

LellowYedbetter · 16/03/2019 13:24

5ft 10in
Currently 10st 9lbs.

Why can you only use the red cups?

LellowYedbetter · 16/03/2019 13:25

Coffee and tea. I don’t even know how the cups thing ended up in there. That’s a separate issue.

Are you being supervised medically wrt going cold turkey on the medication?

HeavenlyEyes · 16/03/2019 13:25

What - you eat food in portions in red plastic cups?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/03/2019 13:25

Does your doctor know you've gone cold turkey on your medication?

TheInvestigator · 16/03/2019 13:26

What did the red cups even have to do with everything else you said? It has no affect on how much you eat or your husband thinking you're starving yourself. Why even mention It?

Your diet has no fruit or veg in it. Don't care how much you eat, but that's a problem.

LellowYedbetter · 16/03/2019 13:26

I don’t know Cole, I just can’t seem to use the other cups, they make me feel sick. I do seem to have constant nausea though lately which doesn’t help my appetite.

There are lots of worrying things in your posts. Have you seen a medical professional about stopping your drugs? Do they know about the way you’re eating?

LellowYedbetter · 16/03/2019 13:27

No doctor doesn’t know about the medication being stopped. I just don’t want to get into it with them to be honest.

Well done to those getting past the cups thing Grin

bobstersmum · 16/03/2019 13:27

I had a horrible image of mooncups pop in my head..

PurpleDaisies · 16/03/2019 13:28

You need to talk to them.

I’m not sure having people analyse your diet is going to be the most helpful thing for you right now. You need to see whoever oversees your medication. That’s really important.

Ginnymweasley · 16/03/2019 13:29

I mean yes you should only eat when your hungry but that is a crap diet. It's fine to eat small amounts but it needs to be balanced.
The cup thing is odd too tbh.

Hollyhobbi · 16/03/2019 13:29

Cereal bars are just processed sugar really. No goodness in them. If you don't eat fruit you need to eat veg. Do you take any dairy? Calcium is another vital nutrient we need as it's used by every cell of our body and also vitd from dairy as well. In our climate we don't have enough sunlight for months in winter and most of us are deficient in vitD as a result. Your diet is very deficient in lots of vital minerals and vitamins. Although I did read somewhere that in Ireland we get most of our vitC from potatoes so that's probably why you don't have scurvy!

PurpleDaisies · 16/03/2019 13:30

I mean yes you should only eat when your hungry

Not if you’ve totally lost your appetite due to a medical issue or eating disorder.

AcrossthePond55 · 16/03/2019 13:30

"Red Cups"? Are you from the Southern US? Grin

LellowYedbetter · 16/03/2019 13:30

I’ve been off them for a month or so now, I feel fine without them. I don’t want to go back on them, they made me a zombie. I lost interest in everything and everyone.

But if you eat more you will get used to it and will be hungry.
