Letting someone go...

I feel a lot of the time like I don't want to go on with living. I don't want to be talked out of it, nothing anybody can say will make things better. And I don't understand that if that's what I really want, just to not have to face living, why people wouldn't be accepting of this? I hate it when people say that others would be upset. Why if it's something you want? Why can't they just let me go?

Hi Ella1980, we're really sorry to hear you're feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources. Please do take a look - there are plenty of organisations listed on it that can give you some support in real life. You can also go to the Samaritans website, or email them on [email protected], or call them (free) any time, on 116 123. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we can see you're getting some good advice and support here, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek real life help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We really hope things start to feel a little easier for you soon, OP. Sending good wishes from MNHQ. Flowers
