@iamreallytrying would something to distract you help? One thing I have found with the med is I am able to distract myself a bit easier and have been binge reading and doing lots of mindful colouring apps.

Sorry you are feeling awful on the meds Flowers

Imreallytrying · 18/10/2019 17:27

I think I’m going to order a colouring book on Amazon. Thank you.

Pickpick101 · 19/10/2019 14:04

A few days since I've been on here . I've been doing exercise , mindfulness and meditation , managed to put together a few good days without feeling awful. I've tried to give myself a well done. After talking to a counsellor I've been accepted for talking therapy. It's over the phone but I'm hoping it's going to help.

toffee1000 · 20/10/2019 03:36

So at my last counselling appointment I was talking about a lack of motivation. With regards to getting a job, I think it’s more deep-seated fear/anxiety rather than motivation problems. I just need to go ahead and do it. Ugh.

Itsallpointless · 20/10/2019 05:25

@toffee I hear you re lack of motivation. I have none, and I think it's down to low self esteem, I don't think I'm worthy of anything I do/have, even a nice home.

Being positive though, you have to look at things like, money/social interaction/routine etc, all these things you will benefit from in the long run. They may help with the motivation.

Fairydust26 · 20/10/2019 13:40

How’s everyone doing this Sunday? A lot of colds going around atm and I thinks it’s finally caught me!Sad

toffee1000 · 20/10/2019 18:21

Yeah I had a cold last weekend. Now my mum has it. Thankfully I’m better now, it didn’t last that long.

toffee1000 · 20/10/2019 19:14

And yes to the money/social interaction things in particular Itsallpointless. I’m not the most materialistic person, but it was nice being able to buy myself a couple of nice perfumes etc with the money I got from the internship! And the people I worked with there were all really nice, so there was that. I just need to actually apply for something now GrinGrin

Fairydust26 · 25/10/2019 13:44

How is everyone doing?

OP posts:
toffee1000 · 25/10/2019 14:30

Just coming home from my counselling session. I think the big thing for me right now is to actually do stuff Grin and get out of the house more. I’ve made some progress but unless I actually do things like applying for a job etc I’m not really going to get better. It’s the first step that’s always the hardest. Like I know that applying for jobs is never easy, but I’ll feel better about applying for one in the future once I’ve got experience under my belt.

Pickpick101 · 25/10/2019 18:32

I'm doing better , been given the go ahead with telephone counseling. I've forced myself to do the exercises , I've got to say I have noticed a difference.

Raindancer411 · 26/10/2019 14:06

Have just self referred for some help as suggested by the midwife, so will see what happens. I am not sure if they will be able to help or if it's planx (midwife run MH) that I need.

Sirzy · 26/10/2019 14:08

I had a bad week, was close to going back to the gp but feeling better the last day or two so will see how I go

Goatrider · 28/10/2019 07:23

Hello lovely people

I was in here previously (possibly different name). Thought I'd cracked it, but the anxiety has crept back and worsened over the past few weeks.

I've got propanolol from the gp which I'm taking, and sertraline which I'm too scared to take as I hear that the symptoms can get worse for a few weeks. I just don't think I could handle it. I'm on my own, so I've no one to lean on /look out for me.

Goatrider · 28/10/2019 07:37

Hope everyone is ok this morning

Sirzy · 28/10/2019 12:10

For me with the setraline I felt sick and tired for the first week but since then it has been a game changer for me. Could you talk about it with your GP

Sirzy · 29/10/2019 06:58

Woken this morning feeling bad. Need to get out of bed to sort Ds but at the moment I just can’t.

Fairydust26 · 29/10/2019 16:28

Hi everyone sorry to hear some of you are struggling, I am tooFlowers. I’ve got a medication review coming up soon and I think I’m gonna ask for my sertraline to be upped. It’s not something I want to do as generally I have been coping well on a low dose but these last few weeks my anxiety’s made me feel crapSad.

But anyhoo how did you all get on today?

OP posts:
Sirzy · 30/10/2019 16:16

Hope your review goes well fairydust

I have got a date through to start cbt. Thankfully only 3 weeks to wait.

Fairydust26 · 30/10/2019 18:18

Thanks Sirzy it’s not till a couple more weeks but we shall see! That’s good about the cbt hopefully you don’t have to wait too long.

I’m currently at a mates 40th. If it’s possible to overdose on kalms I am close to it. I am in the torn between being a good mate and needing to escape positions

Goatrider · 09/11/2019 22:20

Can you get somewhere quiet to have a break?

Fairydust26 · 10/11/2019 02:27

Sirzy how did you get on?

OP posts:
Sirzy · 10/11/2019 08:08

Managed to stay for an hour and then came home. Feeling it this morning though. Hopefully a morning of doing nothing will help calm things

Iblinkedandiamold · 10/11/2019 10:35

Haven't been on here for a while.
Sirzy I get like that too in crowded places. I am better since I started medication but I still have says where I want to hide away.
Fairydust I hope your review goes well in a few weeks.
I'm on a high enough dose. I went to the doctor during the summer as I was having anxiety attacks. I dont get full blown panic attacks, my heart starts racing, I feel dizzy and my skin goes tingly. I'm still fully present though.
She suggested counselling which I really should start. It's hard though, I know I need to find the time and it's important but then I'll have a good month and think I'm over it. I'm not though, my eating and my online shopping in particular are out of hand.
Luckily my c/c limit is low enough to manage but I am always at my limit.
Concerts are my downfall. I feel better if I have something to look forward to. Concerts are it for me.
