using CBD oil for low mood and anxiety

does anyone use CBD oil for anxiety and depression? I have been using it for a while now and find that it really has changed my life for the better. I tried the holland and barret oil but it did nothing for me so I chnaged to a 30% oil and now I feel like my old self again. One of my main issues was social anxiety along with feeling down most of the time and now I can function again. I also have a chronic pain condition which is like ME and it has really helped with that too. I use Aura CBD oil as they seem to actually care about their customers and offer to help you choose the right oil.
I think that it works as long as you get the right oil, I have had a lot of friends try the H and B one and say they got nothing from it.

I agree OP I am on a light and 0.86% per mg but I also take Valeria whih helps me sleep and have a good night's rest and feel refreshed the morning after.

Ps I buy mine from simply cbd and they have a support group on Facebook.

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 14:49

I've been told this is good..but I'm scared to try it. Firstly the cost if it doesn't work? Also what are the side effects? I have fibro but on top extremely bad coordination and balance. Would it make this worse?

Meg321 · 13/09/2018 15:14

Currently there is zero evidence that CBD oil derived from industrial hemp has any medical benefits. Please do your research.

Rebecca36 · 13/09/2018 15:19

Where do you get it?

I've bought some from various sources and frankly do not know if it works or not.

Meg321 · 13/09/2018 15:57

I've researched and there is no evidence that it works, at best it works as a placebo. Pure cannabis oil does have affects but it could also increase anxiety; there fore it's best to see a medical professional.

Beaverhausen · 13/09/2018 16:46

@crystalcherry there is a support group on Facebook called Simply-cbd users support they will be able to point you in the right direction.

I also give it to my cat who suffers from epilepsy and who would have approximately 12 fits a day it has minimised them to 3 fits every 3 weeks.

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 18:17

Thanks beaverhausen. I'm not on fb though but il dig around. From what I've heard it's supposed to help but like I said I'm scared to try.

I get mine from CBD Brothers. It’s really helped my anxiety and I get zero side effects from it

granadagirl · 13/09/2018 19:31

Do any of you take antidepressants as well as cbt oil ?

Frosty66611 · 13/09/2018 19:45

I just take the CBD oil

Frosty66611 · 13/09/2018 19:52

@crystal there aren’t any side effects with CBD. It’s the THC in cannabis that causes people to feel stoned. CBD oil has zero THC so you just get all the goodness of the cannabis plant without any of the side effects. It’s great stuff. My friend has MS and she said it’s changed her life

CommanderDaisy · 13/09/2018 20:03

It's not a scary option.
CBD oil if derived from a professional company has no THC which is the "stoned" part of marijuana.
You essentially microdose on the oil.
I had it recommemnded to me by the Head of an ICU ward for my 15 year old son post surgery to help with eating, to relax him and stop the nausea he experienced due to a reaction to narcotics and anaesthetics he had post surgery. This fabulous guy said they used it on their oncology ward , discretely and currently illegally- but couldn't in the cardiac ICU where my son was.
We got it( elsewhere and quickly), followed instructions and the nausea when he had to take a pain killer subsided, he was calmer and gained back an appetite. Used it for three weeks.

I've also seen it work in animals with excessive seizures, I gave the local dog rescue our remaining supply for two dogs they had in that situation

I call rubbish on those who say it doesn't work.

Beaverhausen · 13/09/2018 20:48

@CommanderDaisy it saved my cat from PTS as none of the medication she was on Keppra, Diazepam and phenobarbital was helping with her seizures, she was taking all three meds twice to three times a day. I introduced CBD and within a week she was off Keppra and halved her diazepam and pheno intake and she now has maybe 3 seizures every 3 to 4 weeks instead of approximately 12 a day.

I take it for my anxiety and depression, i do not believe in pharmaceuticals but i have read that if you are on medication then it is best to take two hours before or after meds.

I have seen and heard, experienced and seen nothing but good from CBD.

Can I also add it is not addictive as it does not contain the THC, all you can do is try it, if you do have any negative side effects there are a lot of CBD support groups on Facebook, you just need to find the right one for you.

I personally as I have said use Simply CBD they are very cost effective and their support group is excellent in letting you know which one would be best suited to your needs and if there are cancer sufferers they do request that you speak to a certain cancer support group who will advice which one would be best suited for each individual.

I use CBD teabags. I am not sure if I am allowed to post the sites on here. I have long term physical health conditions which affect my mental health. The brands I love are Dr GreenLoves CBD tea from Amsterdam but you can order online, another good one when they are out of stock is Ammalife CBD tea. But unfortunately the demand is higher than the supply. But it really helps. I think the high street capsules are a rip off and contain such a low amount.

Ivgotthis · 14/09/2018 21:15

I have been told by my doctor that I can not take CBD cause of the painkillers I'm on for sciatica, spinal surgeries and fibromyalgia..are any of you ladys on lots of meds and been adviced you can take CBD too.im desperate for answer as at a very low point right now:(

Beaverhausen · 14/09/2018 23:45

@Ivgotthis if you use facebook look at a CBD users support group called simply-cbd users support. They will be able to advise you.

Ivgotthis · 15/09/2018 07:49

Thank you I will look today and hopfully get some answers x

granadagirl · 15/09/2018 12:28

Gp’s don’t like to use/advise patients to use anything other than nhs meds
Nothing naturally as they can’t take on the responsibility of saying yes try it. If any repercussions
“Well you said try it”

sulee · 17/09/2018 18:15

I am a HCP who tried it. It did nothing for my carpel tunnel or anxiety and low mood I'm afraid, but it was worth a try..

Philyphil101 · 25/09/2018 17:10

I started using for anxiety and PTSD nearly two months ago now. Such a difference. I hated the taste though so I then started vaping it. I have since recently changed to a pepperint oil based cbd tasting one. It is a little stronger than I was used to but I'm settling on it well now. It's a George Botanicals Peppermint oil with 5% CBD. Tastes so much better. georgebotanicals.com/collections/cbd-drops/products/peppermint-5-cbd-oil-uk-drops

meggie1966 · 19/12/2018 14:31

Hi there. I have been using CBD oil from a company called SalveHerbal bought on Amazon for a number of months and I have found it to have reduced my anxiety tenfold and also general wellbeing. I think a lot of it is down to improved sleep generally. After being sceptical at first I must say I am a convert!

SleeplessInShanklin · 19/12/2018 15:09

Does anyone know if vaping CBD oil can affect asthma, I have moderate symptoms but it's under control.

Also, does it make any difference to how well it works? Or would I get the same effect just swallowing it? Thank you.
