I struggle with anexity and they also say OCD and depression all come together I have two kids and I have tried counciling through nhs and didn't get on with it also had some counciling through my local children centre and had three session then she left but luckily found another councilor :) and meet up with her every week it helps talking and ranting to someone that doesn't know you was doing quite well until last weekend just everything getting on top of me so decided to go see doctor yesterday and they put me on anti depressants the sertraline meant to help with anxiety as well just worried about all side affects now :/ but I can't carry on feeling the way I do :/
Since my aniexity popped up again I have split up with my partner of three half years he got me through a lot of hard times and helped me out of a horrid relationship before and help me through everything to do with that , I feel bit lost don't know how to be myself anymore cause I've always had him to help me through hard places in the last few years and we've always got through together feel like I'm on my own through this don't get me wrong I have few friends that try there hardest to understand what I'm going through how I feel just not the same :/
Just want to here how people get through it or found anything that has helped

My partner/boyfriend that I live with has just left for work. His parents are here now as I am afraid of being alone.

I always use a pill splitter when the doctor advises an increased dose or change of medication.

Sadly, a lot of doctors do stick you on what's actually a rather high dose without considering the side effects too much (at least in my experience!) Or maybe they've not taken these types of meds before and just aren't aware of how horrible it can be at first.

With anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication (I've taken a few different ones!) I find using a pill splitter really helps. I just half or quarter my tablet and ease into the new dose really slowly. For me, it prevents sudden side effects and helps my body adjust to the medication more gently.

Might help someone out there!

My parents have had the kids this weekend. They are bringing them home after dinner.

AnxietySertraline · 19/06/2016 15:50

Betty
Have you tried with Sertraline?

BleakBetty · 19/06/2016 15:57

I haven't, I've had citalopram, fluoxetine and one other, I think amitriptyline or something like that?

Although I would imagine it would work just the same for anything! Obviously I wouldn't suggest ignoring your doctor but for me it's less anxiety provoking to gradually move up in my dose as I get really anxious about taking new medication!

Would also totally recommend seeking more CBT. Sometimes it's a case of just finding a therapist that you really click and gel with.

It also helps me to understand that my goal is not to make the anxiety go away. Sometimes when you feel like you're fighting it off all day, it's actually making things worse.

Try to let it in and feel it within your body. It can't and won't hurt you. Notice where you feel it and what it feels like and let it in. Fighting against it only increases your fear in my experience. Let your thoughts come and go and try not to pay them too much attention. They're there and that's okay. It's okay to have anxiety. It's normal, it's natural, and there's nothing wrong with you at all. It's so bloody hard, though, isn't it?

mummynatty · 19/06/2016 16:13

Easier said than done bleakbetty I would love to not think about thoughts too much but I've always over think things :/

Sorry you've been struggling today. I hope going to your mum's has helped. I've had another anxious day. I think I was right and the good feeling was only temporary. I've had headache all day. I also keep grinding my teeth and it's really irritating me! Has anyone found anyway to help make the teeth thing more bearable?

AnxietySertraline · 19/06/2016 19:04

Clotted what day are U on? I forget. I am not doing the grinding...

Clottedcreamqueen · 19/06/2016 19:43

I'm on day 13 today.
Sorry to hear you're having a hard time anxiety. What day are you on?
I'm so tired this evening. I really hope I sleep tonight. My sleep has been quite disturbed recently, so it's unlikely I'll sleep though, but I'm hoping I can get a block of at least a few hours

mummynatty · 19/06/2016 19:45

I am on day 10 taking 50 mg, but took 25 mg 2 days first. I take it in the morning. I sleep okay at night, but wake up early with anxiety.

AnxietySertraline · 19/06/2016 19:56

Clotted: the first 4-5 days I did take a sleeping pill (zolpiclone is it called in my country).

AnxietySertraline · 19/06/2016 19:57

Natty: can you stay at your moms? Or can she stay with you for a few days?

mummynatty · 19/06/2016 20:56
