I struggle with anexity and they also say OCD and depression all come together I have two kids and I have tried counciling through nhs and didn't get on with it also had some counciling through my local children centre and had three session then she left but luckily found another councilor :) and meet up with her every week it helps talking and ranting to someone that doesn't know you was doing quite well until last weekend just everything getting on top of me so decided to go see doctor yesterday and they put me on anti depressants the sertraline meant to help with anxiety as well just worried about all side affects now :/ but I can't carry on feeling the way I do :/
Since my aniexity popped up again I have split up with my partner of three half years he got me through a lot of hard times and helped me out of a horrid relationship before and help me through everything to do with that , I feel bit lost don't know how to be myself anymore cause I've always had him to help me through hard places in the last few years and we've always got through together feel like I'm on my own through this don't get me wrong I have few friends that try there hardest to understand what I'm going through how I feel just not the same :/
Just want to here how people get through it or found anything that has helped

And agreed on the fear of being alone. I have that too quite a lot

AnxietySertraline · 23/06/2016 18:46

One time my ex husband asked me why I could not just "get it together". My answer was: because et feels like a lion is biting my leg... Inside it is the same feeling... If a lion actually was biting me - I would not just be able to Think "it is nothing"... The same Way I am not able to think that anxiety is nothing... The feeling inside is as real and I can't just get a grip... That is the reason I need medicin...

I'm feeling quite low this evening. I just want to cry. I've had a few good days and today hasn't been to bad. I'm just trying to remember that I have been feeling better and this is just a blip. I just need to get through another day at work then I can hide away for the weekend.

AnxietySertraline · 23/06/2016 20:04

Clotted - I am sorry you are feeling sad

AnxietySertraline · 23/06/2016 20:05

What kind of work do you do? Office? Work with people?

AnxietySertraline · 23/06/2016 20:05

Do you have a family to support you?

mummynatty · 23/06/2016 20:10

Hey everyone I know what you mean about people saying just get on with it and stop worring so much they make you feel so stupid and makes everything worse cause you get more anxious :/ sorry to here your struggling today clotted :/ I had Boris day yesterday stressing better today though managed to get washing done and out on line to dry so pleased for that done have still struggled a little with aniexity but not as bad as yesterday :) got a long weekend now as my sons got non pupil day tomorrow and Monday :) so hopefully lazy morning tomorrow :)

Yes Anxiety its much easier said than done to just not focus on how you feel :/
Sorry to hear that youre feeling low Clotted.. hasnt been a good day for me either been very down and tearful. Keep thinking 'this is me forever' - unhelpful i know. My CBT therapist would not approve lol. Keep thinking of the weekend xx

LilacLilyPad · 23/06/2016 20:13

Im off to vote now

mummynatty · 23/06/2016 20:14

Lilic sorry to here you've been struggling today I get what ou mean talking to your mum that's what I done last night cried and spoke to mum about my worries they try their best to understand but sometimes they can't get past thinking and saying just get on with it and don't worry but it's so hard just to not worry or let go of the thought when you have anexity :/ I get you completely that's why it's nice having people to speak to on here :) helps a lot knowing you understand me :) as family and friends try to understand but don't quite understand as they don't think and worry the same as I do :/ if this makes sense? :)

See mum has her own anxiety issues which is where i think i get a lot of this from, but she definitely has never had it as severely as i have and shes readily admitted that. Never had to ask for help/meds and she 'just got on with things' as she so kindly put it haha.
Yes agreed Natty :) the whole reason I actually signed up here was after reading previous threads of other ladies starting on ADs and all supporting eachother, even just discussing their days. It seemed so nice because I've kind of withdrawn from my friends IRL due to all this... they are lovely and as you said try to be understanding but they just dont fully get it. So its nice having you all :)
Just voted - interested to see how it turns out! Off back home now for some tea and telly

One of my annoying nervous habits is biting my nails/picking at the skin around my nails Confused so gross but I cant stop and my fingers look an absolute state now

mummynatty · 23/06/2016 20:45

Aw well it's nice that your mum understands :) is your mum better now ? Glad she didn't have to have meds etc :)
Yeah I know what you mean think my friends prob get fed up with me a lot of the time canceling and stressing to get out the door to meet them :/ feel like I annoy them :/ yeah same nice having you and everyone else on here :) can just come on and post when ever and just say when I've had a good day or really struggled and can talk to someone :) that understands :) it helps and makes me feel better :) as gets lonely in evening when kids have gone bed and I'm overthinking or stressing about something :) yeah think there saying it's going to be close :) I'll have a look when programs on tv later lol :)

Aw not good :/ do they get sore ?
Have you tried finding something like a little toy or something that you can hold and look at or bite or something instead of your nails and skin :) my councilor told me I should carry something little around in My bag or pocket that I can take out and feel and look at and just concentrate on that when j feel anxious

Shes got a lot better as shes got older i think most of her issues are social anxiety based and she kind of just works past them. Im jealous she can do that!
Yes im the same i think my friends get sick of me cancelling and flaking on them all the time, but i always seem to make plans when im feeling okay then when it comes to it im having a bad day and have to cancel. :/
Yeah when im sitting alone i overthink a lot so i end up just posting on here or browsing old threads!
Yeah they do get quite sore :( thats a good idea i'll try it! Although half the time i dont even realise im biting them until someone points it out

mummynatty · 23/06/2016 21:19

Aw that's nice yeah I am too haha :) well I tried counciling first as can't swallow tablets and didn't want to be put in anti depressants as been told they can make you worse that's what people say about them and heard somewhere they don like putting people on anti depressants under the age of 25 :/ but ask doctor about them making me feel worse and she the won't just side effects you might get :) I'm the same with my friends don't like arranging anything for days ahead as don't know how I'll feel or how much I'm going to struggle :/ but one of my friends always books days like a week ahead but I do have a friend that is around a lot so can just text her when I want to meet someone and she's normally around which is nice :) and I'm werid when I'm struggling I speak to someone about their problems lol to take my mind of my anexity or what I'm worring about lol
Yeah I should as well lol she tells me to try stuff and I forget as got. Oth kids to look after them I remember the day or day before I see her again :/ which is not helping me :/
What you watching tonight getting annoyed with the football :/ done get me wrong I can watch it but don't like it when it messes up corrie lol

At least you have your family and boyfriend Anxiety :) are they helpful/supportive?

LilacLilyPad · 23/06/2016 21:27

Yes i was worried about them making me feel worse or even suicidal which ive heard they can do...hearing that terrified me! I hate reading stuff like that or accidentally coming across horrible side effects people have had an then i just think OMG what if that happens to me Shock and freak out.
Thats good your friend is easy to get hold of quickly. I agree lol i sometimes do that, talking about other people to avoid thinking about my own issues....but then sometimes it makes me feel worse cos their problems seem so trivial and easy compared to mine and im like 'i wish that was all i had to deal with :( ' selfish or what lol
Watching Chicago Fire right now but not really paying attention haha aw im not big on footie but so pleased northern ireland has got through the euros lol proud!!
Aww speaking of a soapy bath makes me want one!!

AnxietySertraline · 23/06/2016 21:30

Yes they are very supporting. However they do not completly understand my struggles... As they have not tried anxiety Confused

AnxietySertraline · 23/06/2016 21:49
