Have you managed to eat anything today? Or thought about talking to a new GP about your meds?

ArseForElbow · 16/04/2015 16:59

I hope you're feeling better today Offred Flowers

My mum took me to the doctors, got meds, picked the kids up from school, gave us all tea and dropped us home and arranged a house viewing and I have applied for it with her as guarantor. 48 hours till I hear back after the credit check. She's also offered to pay for a dog walker while I'm so down. Feeling so much better. She didn't force me to eat but I have eaten a small yoghurt and some salmon and salad today.

And they said they'll help me furnish the house too.

And pay the deposit/advance rent.

Things are so hopeful. They didn't realise I was so bad and my dad has a 'pull your socks up' attitude but apparently he is very worried and was thinking about going back to work after retiring so he could buy me a house.

Renting is much better for all and agent seemed keen.

Offred that all sounds so positive. I'm glad you've eaten something. Little bits is better than nothing.

So a safe place and new meds. Can I suggest this site too:

www.getselfhelp.co.uk

It has sections on all sorts of MH issues. I've found it really helpful after my counsellor suggested it.

Thanks, I'll have a look but have not got on with CBT in the past. I find I already do a lot of the things anyway and it does nothing about the past trauma or current practical difficulties that are the cause of the problems. There's some hope in sorting out a lot of the practical difficulties now that my mum has stepped in. I'd just come so low that I wasn't actually able to get myself out of the hole I think.

The tips for distressing situations are quite helpful.

That hole can be a bugger because you can't see out then Flowers

Once the practical bits are sorted then maybe a chat with the people you rang before might help? I don't know if they can refer you for different counselling?

MrsEvadneCake · 16/04/2015 20:26

There are good relaxations on there too.

Mayytree are calling me back tomorrow. I'll text my old counsellor and see if she can fit me in.
