Everyone is welcome.

Am okay thanks Millie.

PollyPooic · 18/02/2015 10:57

therapist has replied already, eating therapy is more expensive than the fee for other therapies quoted on her website - would it be bad form to ask why or shall I just make an appointment?

(is only a matter of time before I consult this thread on how best to wipe my own bottom isn't it)

she has an alternative venue so am obviously not the only regular at her usual place who doesn't want to be seen going into That room, that's a relief

Millie2013 · 18/02/2015 11:11

I'm not sure why it would be more expensive? unless the sessions are longer? Assessment sessions are often longer and more expensive

PollyPooic · 18/02/2015 11:16

it's not massively more expensive, she said she has helped lots of people in my position (eg ostensibly getting specialised 'help' on nhs but failing to actually progress) and maybe it is liaising with your community team that incurs extra time/costs?

her message was very reassuring anyway, there is probably not a lot besides £££ to lose by meeting for an initial chat? am SO nervous

PollyPooic · 18/02/2015 11:18

I just want someone to tell me what to do, how to think etc

Ennn · 18/02/2015 11:29

Could you ask her to confirm what the additional services she provides to ED clients are?

I think go for the assessment and interview her to see if you think she's suitable.

Millie2013 · 18/02/2015 11:30

An initial chat is an excellent start point, you don't have to go with the first person you meet, but she sounds very promising. How I found mine, because you're dying to know ;) :
I asked a therapist friend for a recommendation, she said man or woman? I said man, definitely
She recommended a man, I knew him vaguely from elsewhere, so went on UKCP website. Found a woman, who looked like a 65yo dragon from her profile pic. Thought "why not", though I really didn't want to see a dragon woman. Made an appt and it turns out the profile pic was rather...old and she was lovely. I was just v lucky to gel with her, but it can happen with the first person you meet

PollyPooic · 18/02/2015 11:33

she is my one true chance of mental happiness, I don't believe in happiness, normalness then, she has to be suitable!

what are you doing today?

Millie2013 · 18/02/2015 11:35

Moi? Toddler taming! Therapy at 2 :)

PollyPooic · 18/02/2015 11:35

would like a dragon therapist

he could melt all my fat by breathing special fire on me

PollyPooic · 18/02/2015 11:36

he would be happy to be paid in all my unwanted engagement rings and diamonds and stuff

Millie2013 · 18/02/2015 11:39

She's quite badass at times. She chases me, via text, if I'm being avoidant/mardy/self destructive

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/02/2015 12:29

Hooray for hearing back from her, great. I'd guess it's a different price to reflect the additional training she has done, and because she may need a different supervisor herself for it?

I'm still in bed, but the sun is out and it's a really nice day so I will heave myself out and Do Stuff.

I should go and get my latest sh dressed, as it hasn't magically healed whilst being asleep, in fact a night of moving about seems to have made it worse but I don't really know where people go for things like this. Confused

Millie2013 · 18/02/2015 12:33

Walk in clinic caulk? Or there used to be a couple of kind nurses at the surgery (the lovely and bonkers one has left)

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/02/2015 12:41

Yes, I thought of the walk in clinic. I've been there before for this and they've said they don't have any nurses there, but I think that's after 5pm or something?

In other news, it is SUCH a nice day I feel like frolicking in a field and dancing about with squirrels or frogs or another Spring like animal.

UpOnDown · 18/02/2015 13:05

I hope you go and get the sh dressed, caulk I'm feeling calmer, on and off.

Millie2013 · 18/02/2015 13:10

Up. And you have yummy chinese to look forward to IIRC? :)
Caulk, I meant nurses at GP surgery? They seemed kind, but might not be the same ones now

UpOnDown · 18/02/2015 13:40

I had the noodles earlier.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/02/2015 13:43

They don't do on the day appointments. I heard someone ringing about needing to see someone when I was there on Monday and there were a couple of days wait.

Hooray for calmness. I'm going to walk around an art gallery before seeing the rape counsellor because I am well cultured.

UpOnDown · 18/02/2015 13:54

Could you try ringing just in case? They might be able to advise you where to go if they can't help. Enjoy the gallery.

I've gone to a walk in centre in the city centre, so I can say that I was just passing and they said it's far too late to do anything, why did you leave it this late, if this isn't the first them then you not what to do etc, and sent me away. I just need to stop doing it, which I nearly have.

So I've come to the art gallery, which was my original plan anyway. It's huge, but not as good as others ones I've been too which is a bit sad.

UpOnDown · 18/02/2015 15:47

Oh dear caulk At least you tried, hugs.
