Fast800 12 Week Results

I just weighed in and my Fast 800 12-week results are in and… I’ve lost 3 stone 0.75lbs (42.75lbs)!!!

I had a lot to lose and lots still to go but once I lose the next 1.5lbs I’ll no longer be in the obese category.

I’ve been here before (including threads here under other user names). The absolute hardest part starts today as I move to the new 5:2 rather than the strict 800 (~1000 towards the end). But I think something’s clicked for me this time that this has to be long term.

Amazing! Well done. This is really inspiring as I’ve been meaning to do this for ages and just never seem to start. It must be a pretty noticeable change!

Glimmer1 · 14/07/2025 17:24

Thank you @ExploringDreams - a huge difference. I have to say the whole process took longer if you count the many months it took for me to get into the headspace to get started.

The loss was most dramatic within the first couple of weeks and I feel so so much better.

My measuring isn’t great (not very accurate) but I’ve probably lost at least 6 inches from my waist. It’s a huge difference.

Congrats @Glimmer1 How did the move to 5/2 go?

What's the plan now?

Like you I lost a lot on Fast800 but then went to 16/8 with some shorter windows which works well for me

Glimmer1 · 05/08/2025 16:46

Thank you @loveyouradvice and well done on your loss too. It’s great to know 16/8 is working for you and that eating window would probably work for me long term too. The move to 5/2 has been mostly ok so far except for a struggle to decide how to approach being away on holiday and ending up in a bit of a jumble with a couple of fast days, a couple of completely relaxed days and a mix the rest of the time. I ended up gaining 3lbs but that’s not a huge gain and might disappear quickly.

More regularly I probably need to see this phase as like the strict Fast 800 but with extra calories on non-fast days - set at an amount where I’ll continue to lose, just a bit slower and with some wiggle room.

Amazing!! I bet you are so happy. You’ve given me the encouragement I needed. I’m ok on a 1000 but really struggling to get down to 800

Glimmer1 · 13/09/2025 19:43

Good luck @CareerChange24, it’s made a dramatic difference for me. Hope it goes well for you.

I’ve been continuing on with 5:2 with some ups and downs along the way, especially over the summer. I have now lost a further 10lbs however so over 50 lbs total. I’m firmly out of the obese BMI category now and edging closer and closer to healthy.

I have been looking for inspiration as I’m getting into a deep hole thinking I hope if I stick to it I will actually see results as a colleague was telling me after three months of doing it she had lost 9lbs!! My mind was telling me she cannot be sticking to it but I needed to hear it. I’m 5’3 and 15.7 so I have a long road to walk!! That’s an amazing loss 50lbs. I bet you feel lighter and clothes. Everything! I’m so bloody miserable it can only get better.

KrazyboutKillian · 13/09/2025 19:54

Well done @Glimmer1
thats a great loss , you must feel fantastic !

Glimmer1 · 13/09/2025 20:57

Thank you @CareerChange24 and @KrazyboutKillian. It does feel amazing and impacts everything. I had got to a point where my knees ached every night and where I was getting breathless going upstairs. Now I’m four weeks into the Couch 2 5K running programme. I’ve recently updated my wardrobe and can shop anywhere again with most things in my size fitting nicely.

I’m sure everyone loses at a different rate depending on their starting point and other factors but I lost my first 9lbs in two weeks @CareerChange24. The biggest felt change was within weeks which is very motivating. I’m sorry you feel miserable and I recognise I was feeling pretty miserable too before I started. I would recommend this as a way to make a positive change.

I have a number and sometimes fairly simple - something like salmon or chicken or whatever the family is having but with green vegetables and salad. My favourite Fast 800 recipes are probably the Indian Inspired Chickpea patties and the spicy beef tacos which is from their more recent recipe book I think. There are a couple of recipes in each book that are now regularly part of our meal planning.

Did you struggle with feeding the rest of the family too?
I started fast 800 today. Got home, DH made a curry and I need to reduce my calories without giving teenage DD any reason to overthink hers. ( As she has a BMI of under 19

Glimmer1 · 30/09/2025 08:17

Good luck @Chocolatebuttonanyone, hope it goes well for you. I suppose it depends on the curry but DH often makes a curry. He will have it with rice or other sides and I’ll have it with salad or green vegetables without drawing too much attention for DS that I’m avoiding certain things.
