I did a 36 hour fast with 1 serving of 10grams of bone broth for dinner and I gained 300 grams more than my starting weight! I am so discouraged and feel like all my effort has gone to waste. Is it normal on 1st day of 36 hour fast. I Used to to 14 hour minimum on most days so I am not sure if my metabolism has done hay wire.

I don’t think it will mean anything much, weight just fluctuates doesn’t it. Maybe you have a bit of water retention or constipation or whatever.

I've had this happen sometimes. After fasting I've weighed more and been completely shocked. But then I eat and suddenly a day or 2 later I'm lighter. I find overall I'm trending down with fasting 2.5kg in 2 months. I'm not really following a programme per se. I think it's also to do with gut motility slowing when I'm fasting. Even if I poo, it's smaller than a non-fasting day. Sorry if tmi, but relevant I think!

Surely where you are in your cycle makes a massive difference too
