Day 2 of OMAD today, I’ve dabbled with this and fasting before and I try and stick to low carb/keto in general, but like many, I have days I end up binging and I’ve ended up feeling bloated and not fitting my clothes properly
going to give this a go
had a big protein/fat heavy meal yesterday at 4pm and small dessert.
plan on having a meal around 2pm today.
im not feeling hungry yet and ive changed to black coffee for my morning coffee

please feel free to add your own tips and results, i don’t want to weigh myself but ive got a reference pair of jeans that i was wearing comfortably last year- they are proper Jean material not stretchy so they tell no lies! I’ll be using them as a guide

Day 3 and I already feel slimmer!
hips down 1 inch
I’ve definitely lost bloating which was my main issue- bloated for around 1 hour after my meal yesterday then it went
No indigestion that I usually get either!
so far it is manageable!! I actually look forward to my meal time rather than just mindlessly snacking all day

Nice one! I’ve been trying OMAD and when I properly stuck to it I felt great, properly alert and barely hungry.

I’ve been away on holiday and now have (probably!) covid, and have defaulted back to three meals a day. As soon as I feel better I’ll be back to it!

Would love to know what you’re eating for your one meal and if you’re bothering to calorie count etc?

MrBigsCat · 24/06/2024 15:58

Broke my fast 1pm-2pm today and was not too hungry this morning at all
today it’s been salad, hallumi, 2 sausages and a chicken burger, broccoli and great beans then 1 slice biscoff cheese cake, Coke Zero
just under 1500cals
pretty much the same yesterday
Saturday was a world buffet, but stuck to meats - no rice, pots, bread and a little dessert
i usually do keto or low carb but end up having a sugar binge day after about a week as I restrict

so I’m hoping adding a dessert makes things more enjoyable and doable

what do you normally go for?

tomorrow I’m doing berries, nuts and yogurt for my dessert

it’s actually hard to eat and be full because doing keto you don’t get that really full feeling for long

I’m on day 2 - eating in the pm and we have friends for a bbq today so I’ve got another 5 hours to go before my meal. This is the worst time for me - 2pm ish as whilst I’m not starving I do feel the urge to eat something. Chugging at the water. I have put on half a stone on top of the two that I needed to lose so hoping to at least get rid of that by my holiday in 4 weeks.

Fraaahnces · 25/06/2024 14:04

Please can I join in? I lost heaps of weight doing this years ago. I fell off the wagon and put quite a bit (lots) back on. I have health issues and have started keto today.

MrBigsCat · 26/06/2024 07:53

All welcome!
im 3 pounds down since Saturday, obviously water but feel so much slimmer already and clothes feeling a bit better too.
looking forward to seeing what the next few weeks bring

i find eating between 2 and 4 is the best as you have a good chunk of feeling full and satisfied for the rest of the day
@keeponplodding7 ive had to add in a few coffees and teas with a small amount of milk as water is sometimes too hard.

today I have a lunch at 12 but I’m going to go 3 course and coffee so that would usually do me till evening anyway and I’ll just hang on until tomorrow

@Fraaahnces ive done keto for years and while you can eat and snack, I find the restriction of sweet treats too hard sometimes. Hopefully with Omad I can still enjoy them and loose!

I don’t have loads to loose but I am at the age that if I don’t control it now, it will be there for ever.

i also come from a line of women that have slim arms and legs and carry weight in a tyre around upper hip and stomach! I call it the rump!!

It would be fine if it was evenly dispersed! But I feel like Gru from despicable me 🤣

Thanks for that… I find Keto especially helpful as
I also have coeliac disease. I’m trying to break the sweet addiction, so starting with carnivore for the first few days to kickstart. (My metabolism is shot I am definitely a lady d’un certain age)

MrBigsCat · 26/06/2024 19:20

Struggling today!

Hey, try doing the big meal first. as the first meal.

Fraaahnces · 29/06/2024 07:46

I’ve started on carnivore/keto (or the cannibal diet, according to DS - he thinks he’s sooooo funny) I’ve lost just over 4kgs (I’m an Aussie, I don’t speak pounds, etc) since Tuesday… I’m not going to stay on carnivore for very long, but it absolutely curbs my cravings and appetite. (Possibly due to boredom) Also, it’s very…. “Cleansing” for the first few days… The weight loss will slow down a bit from now on I imagine. That’s not sustainable.

MrsTaytodarling · 30/07/2024 12:51

Hi can I join in! Started this yesterday, can I drink black coffee during fasting time and should the meal really be keto? Thanks
