Fasting / 5:2 diet

Talk about intermittent fasting and 5:2, including what’s worked for others. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

Would you like to join me tonight at 8pm BBC1 to celebrate Michael Mosley and all he has meant to us? Perhaps with a glass of red wine or some nuts, dark chocolate and berries?

Like many of you, I’m a huge Michael Mosley fan – I’ve 8 of his books sitting on my book shelf as I type. He’s the one who introduced me to intermittent fasting, and to creating a healthy gut. His is the comforting voice that accompanies me on walks, inspiring me to do Just One Thing. I realise he is the public persona who has had the most influence on my life. I will miss him hugely.

There’s a 60 minute tribute programme to him on BBC1 8pm this evening: The Doctor Who Changed Britain.

I’m going to be watching with DH with a glass of red wine, a wee bit of blue cheese, some dark chocolate, nuts and berries. In moderation of course!! I love the idea of thinking of others doing this at the same time – a couple of my mates are in other parts of the country – Would you like to join us?

And perhaps share what he's meant to you.. I'd love to know more and hope others will take some comfort from the huge difference he has made to so many lives.

And from today I’m taking on the Just One Thing I’ve been meaning to do for a while – Standing on one leg while brushing my teeth. As well as dipping into the book with affection, and gently reintroducing some of the others – like walking backwards, which always makes me laugh.

And yes, Ive posted identical in Chat and AIBU to reach more people - apologies if you are reading twice

So moving ... I am feeling rather tearful....

Just 30 minutes of his broadcasting career ... deeply engaging... thoroughly recommend watching if you haven/t already...

I didn't know this was on, I will have to find it on catch-up. He seemed like a really lovely man to me and I have loved his documentaries and the 5:2 diet is fabulous. I am in awe of anyone who would eat tapeworm eggs for the nation!

I don't usually 'bother' when celebs pass on but I feel very sad about this.

Oh I missed this too. Will also try and watch on iPlayer.

I read the original low carb book for diabetics by Bernstein written in 90's. As a T1 diabetic I liked it. Mosley came to it in 2018. I liked his stuff.

Just found this. I hadn't realised it was on but will now watch on catch up. I am also one whose life was changed by DrMM and will be forever grateful for the knowledge he imparted. He was a doctor but he was also a teacher. Going to look for the programme now
