Fast 800 meal ideas

I'm starting the Fast800 tomorrow (but with a little flexibility). I will eat the same evening meal as my children every night, but then have a 200-400 calorie meal around lunchtime. It may mean me hitting 1000 some days, but I'm not concerned about that.

I am asking if anyone has any favourite low calorie meals. I have 3 of the Fast800 books and have been searching through them but thought someone might have speciific easy/go to meals.

Apologies if this is insensitive with Dr Mosley's death, but that has pushed me to do something after so many weeks/months of being unhappy as life is way too short. I saw him record his podcast 2 weeks ago and have since bought and am reading his Just One Thing book ❤️

@Noodge you may be better off ditching the scales and measuring the impact on your clothes, how you look etc. That’s what I generally do.

I keep it really really simple

Breakfast is greek yoghurt with berries & flaked almonds, or an egg with a single piece of LivLife bread.

One of the following (all from Fast 800 Easy recipe book) for lunch

  1. Tuna and bean salad
  2. Courgette, beetroot and feta salad
  3. Med-veg omelette with lots of salad leaves

The salads make 2 portions so I save one for tomorrow.

Dinner - I have to cook for 3 adults and a toddler and our favourites are

  1. Mozarella chicken
  2. Butternut and cashew curry
  3. Beef hotpot
  4. Easy lasagne

Again the recipe books are really useful. They really are worth the money. Claire Bailey Mosley’s Instagram also has a lot of recipes.

I make rice or potato for my family & I have heaps of steamed greens or cauli rice on the side.

No snacks and I have two coffees/teas with milk. It takes a couple of days for your appetite to go down and then I think it becomes easy, as long as you plan it out.

I find the low carb coffee creamer from amazon a bloody godsend. Albeit pricey, and full of god knows what 🤣

Howcanichange · 05/07/2024 21:09

Can you post a link to the low carb coffee creamer please

Thanks @Noodge
What's the best book to buy? There seems to be so many...

Is anyone else meal planning to keep on track? I'm heading into week 5, two meals per day plus 1 litre of water (I don't seem to be able to manage any more). This is my week ahead, I don't mind eating the same food twice in the week. Weigh-in day tomorrow🤔

I like the sound of your spinach and tomato dhal @Redpriestandmozart .The tomato and spinach probably help bulk it out a little. I might try something similar myself.

Redpriestandmozart · 08/07/2024 09:15

@vincettenoir I haven't used that recipe before, it appeared on my FB feed a few weeks ago, and looks very simple.

I know it's not authentic but low in calories, I worked out less than 200 for my serving, and I'll take a chapati with it (182) and a big load of steamed broccoli.
