Heeeelp! So I started 19:5 eating in 2019 and lost about 2 stone but here we are in 2024 and I have slowly put it back on. I have tried to get back into that way of eating but I keep eating junk in my window. Plus now perimenopausal so everything bad I eat seems to set me back a week

I've just had a food filled Easter weekend and I promise myself to start in the morning.

I have ordered the fast 800 book but it won't be with me for a few days. Is there a different Keto book I should order? Any recommendations to get me started tomorrow and the next couple of days whilst I wait for the book to arrive?

How are you getting on so far today? I do 19:5 fasting but combine it with eating as little upf as possible. So I cook from scratch with lots of different veg. I also bake, with less sugar than the recipes so I feel I can have sweet food without blowing the diet.
I know lots of people have success with keto or fast 800 but I worry about the end of that diet. The way I am eating I can hopefully keep up indefinitely. Those stricter diets I wouldn’t keep up forever so I worry I would just regain weight when I stopped them.

Tuesday was tricky as it was a friend's birthday. I ate nothing till the party but then had a glass of champagne and some sandwiches and scones and cake so defo blew the 800. I also ate some leftover sandwiches and a scone for a late dinner so failed on keeping low carbs.

I still haven't managed to read the book so I suppose I am still in the mindset of Delay Don't Deny which is how I lost the weight last time.

Yesterday I did my first ever day of zero calories. I didn't know I would be able to do it! I took a 25mg nytol and I was actually able to sleep at 24 hrs fasted. Plus when I woke this morning it feels like every other morning so I know I will be able to skip breakfast, maybe even lunch.

So whilst I still haven't managed to read the fast 800 thing I am succeeding on the fasting thing! I am now at about 32 hours fasted. I'll be able to fast a bit more today but am going to a friends house for dinner so I will have to eat a normal meal. I'll just see how long I can make it before opening my window. Meeting another friend this morning but that will be just black coffee or green tea.

I’m confused as to why your doing zero calories? Fast 800 is 800 kcal a day with least 50g of protein in an 16 hour window (I prefer 7 hour window) for at least 2 weeks but up to 12 weeks.

Just a word of warning about breaking longer fasts. I find unless I’m very careful I get explosive diarrhoea. You won’t want that happening at your friends house 🤣

I did a zero calorie fast because i have always done delay don't deny and it allows those. I wanted to jump start my weightloss. I have ordered the fast 800 book and the fast 800 Keto book but without the book I didn't know what to do or where to start so I have gone back to what I know .

I will read those books when they arrive d but as @Magyk also said, I'm not sure of the sustainability of such a way of eating and I know the 19:5 works for me, I just wanted to give myself a head start into it. I'm going to read Jason Fung's obesity code and read feast fast repeat which has come out since I read delay don't deny

I have just done x2 20 mins of exercise at about 36 hrs fasted so I am doing well.
