Has anyone had any detrimental effects on menopause symptoms doing 5:2? Or has eating this way benefited menopause symptoms?

Hi there. I did 5:2 when peri around age 50 and was successful. I’m now 53 and eat healthily but portions probably too high so I’m now doing 18:6 or 17:7 and that is helping me lose. I’m now 2 years into meno and it’s suiting me fine. I’ve started doing 5k runs again and haven’t t felt a lack of energy. I skip breakfast and have first meal at 12.

Absolutely brilliant topic women definable get it rough! there you go be yiung and fertile raise a famiky and when it time to be yih again here menopause as a parting gift!

I feel used, cheated and hoodwinked by mother nature and biology.

I so confused by menopause and perimenopause and I'm on the spectrum so i need have fast rules and all I find is you maybe are perimenopausal if you you have this list of symptoms!!

i have everyone apart for irregular periods should i start hrt early and give 5:2 a real trial be cause i keep getting prescribed contraception for its issue but it make me as hormonal as pregnancy i can't tolerate it but theres an imbalance somewhere the just keeps moving on up and it really effects my self esteem myself every thing. i just want a plan or a new way if life I'm so embarrassed about weight am starting severely a
isolate myself im responsible for what I put in my month but 90% is subconsciously so every thing is a mess inside and out! maybe I am crazy because my outside world is as messy as me.

rant over thanks for raising and highlighting this i willingly follow and take all the advice I can get xx

Yes but remember you’re asleep for most of that 16 ,17 or 18. I eat at 6pm then at 12midday. So just one less meal. I have black coffee, tea with splash of skimmed milk and lots of water all morning so much easier than 5:2. Also I’m not training for a race, I run/jog 5 k twice a week. I built up to this with running a few lampposts , walk one etc.
