Hi,

I've never fasted. Currently very perimenopause and the weight has been creeping up. Just started HRT and some mojo has come back and I feel ready to really give looking after me a try and shift some weight!

So I'd keen to try 5:2, is it as straight forward as two very low cal days and then 5 sensible days?

I don't eat badly. My meals are healthy it's the snacks and too much empty cals on wine. So I've got a short term goal of where I would like to be by Christmas.

All tips and inspiring stories welcome

If you're able to listen to podcasts, I'd recommend Intermittent Fasting Stories with Gin Stephens. They're really good, lots of inspirational stuff to help keep you motivated.

I'd do mostly 16:8 fasting, rather than 5:2 because it suits me better. I've lost nearly 3 stones since starting earlier this year, so must be doing something right 🙂
