Some fantastic achievements! Very inspiring. I would love to get below 13st.

Peae were you brave enough to look?

I remembered too late yesterday but today shows I’m a pound down from last week. So 13st 6lb. Again.

Well done @Peae, focus on seeing the '12' on the scales next month at some point. For me, nearing the next stone has been the most motivating point and you're already on the right side of the half stone barrier to hit 12st 13.8lbs in 4-6 weeks. Try having a mid morning snack and then your main meal around 3-4pm if you want to try something different, it's worked well for me.

Peae · 21/10/2023 14:09

I would rather eat at 10am and 2pm. That's felt good for me in the past, but I just can't manage that around work.

For months, I've bounced between 13st 7 and 13st 3. But looking at my notes, I started the year bouncing around 13st 10, so I guess it's an achievement? I haven't gone up? And if I lost even half a stone a year I could be at a healthy size before 48.

focus on seeing the '12' on the scales next month at some point.

This really got me thinking, thank you.

Could you eat the meal you cook the previous day at 2?

E.g. Sunday afternoon you cook a batch of spag Bol, eat it at 2pm and then eat another portion at 2pm Monday. Monday eve you cook fajitas but don't eat them and then take your portion with you to work on Tuesday to eat at 2pm, Tuesday night do the same for
Wednesdays big meal?

Peae · 21/10/2023 16:45

Yes, sometimes. I'm going to focus on the days I can manage a 10-2 window, such as weekends.

TOMORROW!

Grin. I must have Friday on my mind.

Starting weight (1 August): 10st 3lb
Current weight: 9st
Lost this week: 1lb
Goal weight: 9st 🎉

Bang on my goal today :)

Now comes the tough part - maintenance. I’m going to stick around on the thread and set myself a maintenance goal of 8st 12 to 9st 2lb. I’ve really found this hard in the past, but hoping that sticking with my 14:10 / 15:9 fasting pattern will help.

violetcuriosity · 27/10/2023 07:22

0.4lb gain 🙄 It's half term, and the baby is waking up at 5 every morning. Need to lose next week.

Start weight (July) 13st 1lbs
Current weight 12st 0.8lbs

HarpQuartet · 27/10/2023 07:40

Starting weight (June 2023) 87.5kg
Weight last Friday: 81.0
Weight today: 80.8

If you're lucky I might treat you to an essay later about the Important Thing I Realised This Week. (Lest the prospect set any hearts racing, be assured that I don't think it'll be very interesting to anyone else 😁)

HarpQuartet · 27/10/2023 07:41

Congratulations @MegBusset I'm singing a chorus of "What a feeling" for you (but only in my head as I'm on a train)

@violetcuriosity that's only a very little bit

littleblackcat27 · 27/10/2023 07:52

Late placemarker here - if you lot start another thread for November I would like to be on it.

Present weight - around 10 st 9lbs

Goal - anything under 10 stone would be great!!

I'm prediabetic so always wanting to not eat sugar or too many carbs - always hard

Peae · 27/10/2023 09:11

Congratulations Meg! That’s fantastic.

(I had a slight gain 🙄).

OP posts:
Fouramclub · 27/10/2023 12:03

start 75kg august
weight today 73.8kg

@violetcuriosity that's only a small gain and could easily vanish after a good loo trip 😂 but I feel you. i've put on about 1.5kg over the past two weeks and I am struggling to shift it due to birthdays/leaving parties/half term/5am wakes. my kids wake up stupidly early and while it's easy to stick to a routine at work, it's not so easy when they are off and I feel like I might die if I don't have a pastry at 10am when I've been up for 5hrs already.

congratulations @MegBusset @HarpQuartet
do you share your things you have learned!

rockingbird · 30/10/2023 06:23

Place marking for November 🤗

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 01/11/2023 09:31

Can I join you all?

I had real success with 5:2 10 years or more ago and also with low carbing on bootcamp a couple of years ago but since then I've hit peri, eaten and drunk far too much and had a string of injuries/tendon issues that I think are peri related and reached my heaviest ever...

My fasting schedule is trying to combine 16:8 and 5:2 during the week with a slightly relaxed schedule at weekends, plus trying no drinking during the week. Got almost 2.5 stone to lose.

Starting weight 11 5.6 (Monday 30th October)
Target 8 13 (I'm fairly short with a very small frame)

Been reading the current and previous thread, and it's the motivation and accountability I need. Told DH early of my plan so hopefully he will help rather than sabotage.

Clearingaspace · 01/11/2023 09:46

Can join too for next month please. Starting weight 198lbs almost 5ft 4. I have also been confirmed as peri and I get something like plantar fasciitis but almost overall foot ache - it seems to improve when I get my period- so weird! I will be doing something along the lines of the fast 800 5:2 phase at first.?plan to skip dinner on those 2 days but will log cals all week. Also aim for 12-14 hr gap before bf the rest of the week.

Peae · 01/11/2023 10:04

Hello newbies!

I haven't weighed myself and I know I've been over-eating because I'm quitting Diet Coke this week. Then I'm going to work on hugely reducing sugar.

I have a real issue with Gin Stevens but I am thinking of doing her 28-day fast start (or whatever it's called) that's coming out between Christmas and New Year. I was thinking we should definitely have a thread for that!

OP posts:
HarpQuartet · 02/11/2023 06:50

@Peae I'd not heard of her, but I've done a quick bit of googling and is the gist that it's a short eating window - 4 hours?

I've been on holiday and slightly nervous of the scales as I had a quick weigh in before I went and was 80.1kg, sooooo close to being in the 70s... but have been very.... relaxed, shall we say, since then.

Peae · 02/11/2023 06:59

she doesn’t advocate a particular time, but I’ve heard her say a few times that 16:8 is probably not sufficient for most people (and I think she’s probably right on that).

Final Week Check-in!!

OP posts:
MegBusset · 03/11/2023 08:27

Morning all :)

First week of maintenance fasting for me. This looks much like my weight loss fasting tbh, as I’m only short so can’t really add much in the way of calorie intake. But I did go out for a nice curry on Thursday 😋

Maintenance goal: 8st 12lb - 9st 2lb
Today’s weight: 8st 13.8lb

coffeecupslinedup · 03/11/2023 08:34

Anyone keen for a December countdown? I was too off the wagon for November! Well done everyone who's lost, so inspiring to read!

Clearingaspace · 03/11/2023 09:04

@MegBusset well done on maintaining - it’s another level of discipline.

@coffeecupslinedup yes please!

i feel a gatecrasher as this is def not fat loss, but 1st 18hr water fast down (after 850 cals) and it was 3lbs less on the scale this morning - obviously water weight, period loss as at the end of week 1, less food in tummy etc - but still fun to see!

cw 195lbs

HarpQuartet · 03/11/2023 09:48

I appear to be on a plateau of 81kg.

This is less than my previous plateau of 82kg! So it seems entirely reasonable to think I could be in the (very high) 70s at the end of this month.

@Peae thank you for the thread, and @coffeecupslinedup thank you for your message, which I will reply to when I have a moment ☺️

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 03/11/2023 11:07

Well done @MegBusset - maintaining is just as hard as starting off I think. It takes a focus to be able to relax the weight loss focus but not let go of good habits. I've been there twice after big losses and failed both times - hence I am back in it again.

Same as @Clearingaspace I feel a bit of an imposter as this is very much starting water loss...

SW (39th October) 11 5.6
Target 9 stone
Today 11 0.8

Likely to see that go back up a little over the weekend as I'm doing 5:2 plus 16:8 months- fri evening then relaxing a bit over the weekend so I don't feel guilty about socialising or obsess about what or when I am eating and drinking.

I'd like to get to say 10 5 by Christmas so would love another thread leading to December.
