Anyone want to do keto with intermittent fasting for 4 weeks with me?

Am going to do 1000cals lunch and dinner within 6 hours of each other and only clear liquids rest of time.

Want to lose 10lbs before Halloween

If it’s 1000 kcal does it matter if it’s Leto or not? You’d be losing weight anyway. IMO that’s v little food but 5kg in a month and a bit would be achievable on that.

Waistnotwantnot · 24/09/2023 11:06

I'll join you. I'm having surgery in November so want to lose weight to reduce my risk from general anaesthetic and aid recovery.

I already eat 18:6 TRE most days with lunch at noon and dinner at 6pm but do have milk in coffee earlier in morning.

I need to count my protein, carbs and calories. Will follow Michel Mosley's Fast800 keto of 50g protein, less than 50g carbs and 800-1000 calories/day.

We can do it!

It's just what I do when I'm feeling the chunk. It works for me and quickly.

Yes!

Have prepped some little tubs with some leafy veg and cheese for omelettes for lunch for the next 3 days. Dunno what's for tea yet.

Me! I will join - but need a couple of days to buy some suitable food first. I also want to lose weight before surgery. Hoping that (plus some accountability here) will be good motivation. I've done Keto before and felt great

LilKiks · 24/09/2023 17:51

Yes I feel so much better in keto.

My headaches and sluggishness just dissappear

@broccolino do you have a date for your surgery? I definitely need the accountability to help me stay on track.

I'm doing supermarket shop in the morning. Have a family party this week which I'll enjoy as my final harrah before my op but will start tomorrow on the plan and with low carb and then aim to get into keto the week after. Got some Ketostix to test for ketones once I've stuck to strict keto for a few days.

I was the same - had so much more energy. It's just so difficult to stick to isn't it?

No date yet. It might not be for a while but I need to make sure I'm in good (or at least better) shape for it - and it might be sooner than I'm expecting.

What's on your shopping list? I need to try to make sure I don't just live on cheese Smile

It really is.

Especially as one bad choice can kick you out of the whole process.

All my downfall foods are carby

Definitely!

I've woke up starving so am having the omelette for breakfast

Was so hard not to grab a chocolate croissant or something.

Waistnotwantnot · 26/09/2023 08:46

@LilKiks how were you after the omelette? A great choice to fill up with savoury & protein meal.

You've reminded me to boil some eggs to have on standby for snacks.

broccolino · 26/09/2023 23:44

I'm still not quite ready to get started but hopefully will get on it properly next week (going away this weekend). Any tips for good snack foods? The first time I did Keto, my constant hunger pangs disappeared but the last time I found it more difficult and needed lots of snacks to keep going

Waistnotwantnot · 27/09/2023 14:42

@broccolino I try not to snack when following keto strictly but depends on your goals if you're doing it for weight loss and/or other health benefits.

My go-to emergency snacks are boiled eggs, cheese, nuts.

broccolino · 02/10/2023 22:11

How's it going @Waistnotwantnot and @LilKiks? I finally made a start on Keto today after a weekend away

Waistnotwantnot · 03/10/2023 13:12

@broccolino great to hear you've started this week. How's it going so far?

@LilKiks how are you doing?

I was relaxed last week as had family party and now on it properly. Just had lunch of turkey breast to get my protein in with salad and a yogurt and harissa dip. Other half had the same but with addition of tortilla wraps.

broccolino · 03/10/2023 22:50

It's going OK so far - 2 days in. Not too hungry which is good. It's just a bit of a faff cooking for the whole family and not being able to eat half of it! I seem to remember losing quite a lot of weight in the first week of keto when I did it before, so looking forward to weighing in a few days. Im also hoping for a bit of an energy boost but that hasn't happened yet...
