I've been doing alternate day fasting for just over two weeks.
Im very overweight, but more importantly I have diabetes, insulin resistance, high blood pressure and fatty liver.
I have literally tried everything else out there but nothing has worked for me, including fast 800, low carb etc.
I haven't weighed myself (I tend to go by how clothes feel rather than the scales) but have found that:
- my average resting heart rate is 10 points lower than it was 2 weeks ago
- my blood pressure is down 15 points (top number) and 8 points (bottom number)
- I've more than halved the amount of insulin I need and my blood sugars have stayed in range most of the day
I'm struggling to believe it!
I'm hoping that this is addressing inflammation in my system and resetting some of my health problems. Once things are reduced/stable I'll tweak things to get back to "normal" eating times.
Thought I'd post this in case other people are struggling the way I have.
