Decreased appetite?

I'm completely new to IF, about to embark on my final fast of the week and first weigh in tomorrow. But today and yesterday my appetite has vastly decreased. I've managed 18 hour fasts by accident as simply not felt hungry.

Is this a beneficial side effect? I've googled and mixed reports.

Yes any fasting can have this effect. I used to do full day water fasts and the change was quite a revelation. I wonder if it both hormones being better regulated as well as your stomach shrinking. I know that i physically cant eat as much even if I wanted to. Low carb does something similar but I don't know if its the same mechanism you are fasting from carbs after all.

@Nugg what pattern are you doing? Thinking of trying IF but am confused about the huge variety of ratios that I have read about!

16:8! Fasting 2000-1200 ish. I only really skip breakfast and it stops me taking tea and toast or biscuits to bed too! I've kept in my 8am cuppa with a sweetener and a tiny dash of milk and then just water which I love sparkling much more than plain tap, thanks to soda stream 😂
And it works..lost 4lv this week and have not restricted food, kept strictly to the 8 hour window but eaten what I like!

@Nugg that sounds great! Will have a go when I'm back from holiday - an skip breakfast sometimes so will formalise it (and cut out the booze 😂).

Thank you 😊
