Fasting for beginners

Hi, I'd like to give fasting a go, really hoping it'll give me a kick start as I'm so miserable with the weight I've put on.

Can anyone share any tips? The sorts of food that I should be eating, anything that makes life easier?! There seems like so many different things around so would love to know what people think.

I also do weights/spin a few times a week so hoping that'll be sustainable, just conscious that I need to better my diet in order to loose weight.

Thank you so much in advance!! x

if your doing a strict fast only water! Lots of it :) and black tea and coffee is ok I think!

I usually skip breakfast and then have a brunch type meal at 12, fruit at 3/4 and then whatever I’ve made for everyone at 6. I try not to eat after 6.

I started last week. I’m using my fitness pal to log my food as I’m trying to increase my protein intake and be mindful of carbs. I tend to eat no later than 7pm than nothing other than plain water until 11am the following day. I then have a breakfast - usually protein yoghurt/fruit and then a light lunch - either salad/soup etc. evening meal usually have what everyone else is having unless it’s too carb heavy.

trying to snack less in my eating window, drink more water and just to be mindful of making healthier choices

I’m actually not feeling too hungry. Evenings sometimes I crave a cup of tea (not a fan of black tea) so I just have water.

don’t feel hungry when I wake up but I do start feeling hungry around 10am

so far so good - good luck with the plan

Read the books by Gin Stephens. Delay, don’t deny and Feast, fast, repeat.
