Starting 16:8 diet tomorrow... anyone fancy joining?

I'm starting the 16:8 diet properly from tomorrow after trying it out a couple of days last week and finding it seemed to suit me OK. Would love it if anyone doing the same would like to share experiences??

My 'kitchen closed' at 6.15pm this evening so technically I think I can eat from 10.15 tomorrow but I'm going to see if I can last until midday and eat 12-8 on weekdays. I don't think I'll realistically be able to do it on weekends but am going to try to stick to the general principles of not snacking in the evening/ eating more 'mindfully'...

I have a stubborn half a stone to lose which I've never managed to shift since having my second dd (who is now 3).

I've always dismissed this diet before as I love breakfast/ brunch so much! But I'm now changing my mentality on it and saying I'm basically delaying my breakfast not ditching it. I'll have a big brunch style meal around 12 and then a decent dinner before 8.

I'm hoping it'll suit me as I am not someone who eats loads of sugar/ junk but I do love my food and hate diets - just the idea of being restricted makes me miserable but if I feel I'm just 'delaying' food I feel loads better. My big weaknesses are milky hot drinks (I'm probably going to allow myself a small splash of milk in tea in the morning that'll make it a lot more bearable for me!) also buttered toast, cheese, and snacking on the kids' tea leftovers at 5pm....

Be so lovely to have some company but if not I can always chat away to myself I guess!!

Also planning to listen to some Jason Fung podcasts which are supposedly v helpful!

Anyone else doing similar??

Everyone ok? I'm down to 156 today - so 33 off in total since March. Really pleased. 6 lbs to first target Smile

Have been out this morning and charity shopped bags of stuff. It's odd trying on winter coats and them hanging off me now.

I love this way of eating. No calorie counting. Zero deprivation. We've been out for dinner twice this week and have had friends over too.

Well done @whirlygirly! That is an absolutely fantastic achievement! Have you noticed much change in energy levels?

I have gone massively off plan this month 😅 I think because I have been spending more evenings in the kitchen near to the food, which has led to mindless snacking. I need to move my evenings back up to the living room.

I feel confident about getting back to it though.

Hey @whirlygirly that's such awesome news!
I'm actually pregnant now so have had to put the fasting on hold! I actually miss it! I think once, fingers crossed, I've had the baby I'll definitely get back to it as a way of eating for life, I so prefer it. I can't find any evidence about it being safe for pregnancy so staying on the safe side, but hopefully it'll be easier to lose my baby weight when I get back to it!

@Leopardpj congratulations!! Smile
I think you are wise to err on the side of caution. I haven't seen any evidence about pregnancy - I can't imagine it being harmful but I wouldn't want to take any chances either and I also imagine it's much harder to push through pregnancy hunger pangs!

And @MerryHen thank you! My energy is fine - I love a lunchtime walk while still fasted - I really feel like I skip along. It's good to get back and eat something though.

That all said, I've just been tested by a Colin the caterpillar cake in the kitchen.. the old me would be chomping on a slice now..!

Hey all! Two years ago almost to the day(!) I started this thread (old username!) and found it so helpful, I got really into the fasting and lost a stone in about two months, which I was so happy with!
I then got pregnant and had my son who is now about to turn one next week!
And now that I’ve basically stopped breastfeeding, I’m so ready to get back into fasting again!
I gained quite a bit while pregnant - I’m now 11st 2lbs, feel rubbish and all my jeans are too tight :(
I would soooo love to be 9st 13lbs by my summer holiday (there is something about being under ten stone that really does it for me psychologically!!)
I found the company on here so helpful last time, and motivating! If I started a new thread would anyone fancy joining me in a new fasting kick?!
Hope everyone is well!
