Fast 800 - can I eat what I want? Can someone give me a cheat sheet?

OK I'm looking into the fast 800 diet BUT I can't afford the book right now. I'm trying to find info online but I have questions.

  1. I feel like i could stick to 800 cals BUT I'm really not interested in keto...I'm vegetarian so it'd be difficult to achieve anyway and I just don't think it'd be practical trying to be carb free. I know this is recommended though...but could I just do 800 cals and eat normally? Not junk, but normal meals?

I was wondering if I could fast till dinner then have dinner with the family just a smaller portion? 🤔

  1. I read something about being allowed non starchy veg for "free" without counting calories...is that right?

Thank you to anyone willing to help! Xx

I’m a vegetarian kind of doing fast 800. You need to aim for low carb high protein which is harder on a vegetarian diet. I aim for under 50g carb and over 50g protein per day but not always hitting the protein.
There are quite a lot of recipes you can access for free…daily mail, fast 800 site, you magazine. I’d recommend you follow these as unless your family happens to eat a very Mediterranean diet anyway just eating very restricted amounts of family food is unlikely to be sustainable.
I previously didn’t eat eggs but am having to eat a lot of them. To increase protein intake I’m adding two extra egg whites to two eggs. Also eating Greek yoghurt and feta a lot and averaging 9 portions of fruit and veg.
My starting bmi was 23 so I haven’t seen as dramatic weight loss as some but have lost 11lb in 3 weeks. I have stayed under 800 every day although the vegetarian plans in the book are more like 950 which would be better for protein. I haven’t touched any white carbs though I’ve eaten beans and lentils and have avoided sugar as much as possible so only fruit is blueberries, strawberries and raspberries.
The books say don’t bother counting green leafy veg but I do still count them in.

Can you get the book from a library? Or screenshot some recipes from it? The key thing is the high fat content.
