Hi everyone I’m looking for advice on which would be the best and fastest way to lose weight by fasting. What combination of fasting and eating gives the best results and is something that can be maintained for the foreseeable? I’ve dipped my toe into fasting a few years ago. Can anyone recommend a book too that I could get to help? Thank you 😊

It never lasts that's the trouble. But if you want to dump a load of weight, I can recommend calorie counting and weight training together. I lost weight in slabs like that.

Hi

Myself and all my friends swear by IF it works for us to loose the weight and maintain the loss

In my opinion the "eat whatever you like in your eating period" is crap. You need to be eating a calorie controlled diet I your eating time and not starting eating till later in the day helps

Have a plan- I always have eggs for my first meal of the day so I'm not so hungry that I'm grabbing biscuits

I don't start to eat until 11, I do have black tea/coffee/water before then and I don't eat again after 7. That's 16:8

A typical day for me is either 3 boiled eggs and wilted spinach at 11ish and then my evening meal- usual family stuff but homemade (bean chillie, lasagne) and not massive portions

You could try the Fast 800 (Michael Mosley) which will give you fast initial weight loss followed by tools to maintain.

You don’t need to sign up to the plan, you can use the books to follow it yourself.

I've been doing ADF (alternate day fasting) for about 9 months now, have lost 2.5 stones. It would be more if I didn't eat so much on my non-fasting days! But for me the important thing is I am sticking with it and I never stick at a diet longer than a month or so.

I've been doing one meal a day (OMAD) fasting for 3 weeks today and have lost 5.5kg which I'm really pleased about. Still another 20kg to go to reach my ideal weight but I'm finding it surprisingly easy to do. I eat between 5-6pm and that is our main family meal anyway. I just make sure that is a varied, healthy meal incorporating as much variety of foods over the week.
