Does fasting cause infertility?

I have to lose 2 -3 stone! I've been reading up on intermittent fasting and some Doctors's say it can cause problems with cycles, hormones and infertility? I want TTC next year so just wondering if this can affect fertility! Thanks xxx

I’d guess not otherwise there’d be very few children born during times/areas of famine or where food supply is highly erratic perhaps due to economic factors/poverty. (Which may be the case?!)
