Can anyone explain the point of the shakes?

I’m doing the first 14 days of Fast 800 right now, thought I’d follow MM advice and get some shakes in so that I didn’t have to think about planning every meal.

I thought they would make me feel full but they don’t in the slightest. So as far as I can work out I am just consuming 200 calories in shake form for no reason at all. They don’t even taste nice but I didn’t have particularly high expectations on the taste/texture front.

What exactly are you supposed to gain from having a shake? Is it nutrients? I wouldn’t have thought that you were at much risk of malnutrition within a fortnight, certainly not enough to justify wasting 200cals of the meagre allowance on a tumbler full of vanilla-flavour wallpaper paste!

(And yes, before anyone says it, I do agree that perhaps the only real purpose of the shakes is to line Mr Moseley’s pockets, and I have fallen for his ruse!)

I’m with you on how horrible they are. I don’t understand why they are so so sweet either.

The point is that it makes the producer/supplier money 💸

Yeah I said that!
