Does anyone else do 3 day fasting? I'm 39 hours in and feeling fine atm actually. I want to follow Jason Fung's timetable after this, but not sure which one I'll do, with a 36 hour fast at the beginning of each month maybe. I'm diabetic so want to bring my fbg down.

I do one extended fast each month. I find it helps with my skin and I think it helps with insulin sensitivity too.

Sorry, I got that wrong there, I meant 72hr fast at the beginning of each month.

I'm currently upto 58hrs and I would go to the 72hrs today, still no real hunger etc, but I'm supposed to be meeting someone for lunch today.

I would have thought that I'd have better fbg by now though, it was 6.5 this morning, and I had lower a couple of weeks ago after having indian.

I'm not sure it works as directly as that. Yes, fasting will improve your insulin sensitivity but it won't necessarily be immediately apparent from your blood glucose levels, especially with their inherent variability and also the inaccuracies of meters. When did you start your fast? I'm sure the benefits of a 66-hour fast are similar to those of a 72-hour fast if you do need to break it early.

I started after my last meal on Saturday night, 10.45pm. I know it will take time but I just thought it might be a bit better than it was.

I do a 36 hour fast every week and it works well for me.
Don't fancy going longer, but wish you luck...
