Need some motivation Grin

How much did you lose in how long?

I’m on day 3 and have lost 4lbs Halo

Is that 800 calories a day? I might have to try it. I’ve stuck to 1400 for 2 weeks and not lost a single pound!

Orcagirl · 30/08/2020 17:18

Yes farlow. The key is eating very little carbs- have a look at the bloody sugar diet book bf Michael Moseley. I find it I do slimming world or anything like that I feel very hungry due to the amount of carbs, which causes blood sugar levels to peak and fall, which causes hunger pangs.

That’s really interesting. I do eat a lot of carbs and struggle with low blood sugars at times and then end up eating way too much.

justanotherneighinparadise · 30/08/2020 17:23

My DP has lost a stone in three weeks.

justanotherneighinparadise · 30/08/2020 17:23

The key to weight loss is controlling your insulin. So low carb mixed with intermittent fasting is your friend.

fufulina · 01/09/2020 12:30

I started May 4, 2020 and as of today I have lost 21kg (46lb). BMI from 31.4 to 24.4. Waist from 41” (!) to 31”. Another 7kg to go.

I did 800 cals low carb, time restricted eating (12-6), no snacks and for the first eight weeks, no alcohol. Now transitioning slowly to 5:2 ish, but keeping the core principles of TRE, low carb and no snacking. I also continue to educate myself about the physiology; when you understand why it works, it’s much much easier to make the good choices.

I feel very healthy on it and beyond being smaller I sleep better, my skin is looking good, my mood is better and my brain is sharper.

It worked for me. HTH.

That’s brilliant fufulina, well done!

Wow fufulina that's a great success story!
Op - I've been doing it for just over 3 weeks and have lost 12lbs. I haven't followed the 800 calories religiously though, averaged more like 1000 a day, but the principles are the same and it seems to be working.
Got 16lbs to go, so reckon I will be on it for another few months and then trying to maintain a normal weight with intermittent fasting and low carbing.
Good luck!

LivingMyBestLifeNOT · 18/09/2020 13:29

When sticking to 800 calories a day are you exercising too?

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 18/09/2020 13:36

I've lost a stone in 6 weeks. I cheat a bit (gin and diet tonic, the odd sugar free sweet, sweeteners in coffee) so I think it would be more if I was properly strict. Now seem to be losing at 1lb per week. Am now 12.6 stone.

aceofbase1 · 19/09/2020 08:20

I've lost 1 stone in 4.5 weeks but I have had a total of 6 days off during that for special occasions

Purpleraindeer · 19/09/2020 16:56

10lb in 2.5 weeks. I did 16:8 and Cals between 750 and 850 every day. First week was difficult as I adjusted, after that was fine, apart from needing some food inspiration from other posters as my meals were getting a bit repetitive Smile

Suziee37 · 24/09/2020 21:13

Hi I want to do this but don’t want to do low carb version. I need to eat fruits, Will this still work if I don’t give up all carbs?

Zebrasandfairytales · 24/09/2020 21:32

I’ve lost 40lbs and I’m nearly at the end of my twelve weeks.

I’ve avoided most carbs but have had swede etc. You can eat some fruit on the Fast800, but usually in small quantities and at the end of a meal.

Genderwitched · 24/09/2020 22:07

I'm on week five and I've lost 20lbs so far. I have been quite strict apart from two meals out. I'm loving it actually, the food is tasty and I'm sleeping well. I do have a lot to lose though, about four stone more.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 25/09/2020 11:10

I eat berries on this diet. So you can have some fruit.

1questionshootout · 25/09/2020 18:07

Suziee, when you say you NEED to eat fruits, what do you mean? The Fast 800 recipes do not completely rule them out, but they do try to factor in the carbs. So there may be banana dishes, but not every day. Berries, pears, are OK, also some apple, citrus, and kiwi. There's a mango smoothie in teh recipe book, also berry compote. Dates and prunes are in the "occasional treat" recipes.

Suziee37 · 25/09/2020 18:41

Thank you everyone. I have very fussy eater toddler and she only eats when I eat with her so I can’t completely cut out any food group. Brilliant I’ll eat some berries on it. I did day 1 today! I actually stick to it. I’m dying for a glass of red wine - is it okay on this diet? I’ve had 715 cals so far.

1questionshootout · 25/09/2020 19:23

Red wine is a once in a while treat! It's recommended to try to get through the first few weeks without alcohol, but I'm in no position to lecture!

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 25/09/2020 20:42

I never gave up alcohol at all - I still have a glass of red wine or a gin with diet tonic. Strictly speaking you are meant to avoid artificial sweeteners and alcohol for the first couple of weeks but I didn't and I'm still losing weight. I do only have one glass though and not every day.
