Can you do the 16: 8 from 9-5?

Most people seem to skip breakfast but is 9-5 ok on this plan? My reasoning is that a later meal in the evening may make it harder for the body to digest it. When i return to work in September it will be harder but for now i think this timeslot is better for me.

Yes you can.
You can do it anytime as long as you have 16 hours fasting you can ajust the hours to suit your lifestyle

I did the 16:8 some time ago and it fitted perfectly with 9-5 (with my commute it was more like 7:30-18.30) . I had late lunch at work and evening meal when I got home.

I’m someone who needs to eat my largest meal in the evening which is frustrating in some ways but helpful for this working pattern.

Oops sorry I misread the post. You could certainly do this 9-5. I think the timings don’t matter as long as you stick within the time zone.

Yes absolutely - I do similar. I’ve read somewhere that it’s better not to eat too late into the evening, so an earlier window is perhaps preferable.

I think it would be fine but one of the reasons 16:8 has worked for me is that I’ve skipped out breakfast so that saves me like 300ish cals a day, so I’d just be conscious if I was still eating three meals to maybe make them a bit smaller than if I were having two.

I’m back on the 16:8 yay! It made me feel great last year.

Yesterday I achieved lots and felt great in the morning I started eating at 1300 but had aimed for 12. Skipping breakfast really helped with reducing hunger but today felt exhausted by 12. So slightly ate more than planned at lunch (but likely less overall than had I had breakfast). Quite a few sneaky squares of dark chocolate that weren’t scheduled.

I can’t remember tiredness being such a concern previously. I maybe overdosed on coffee!

Skeleton skins - I agree the skipping breakfast part for me was crucial as it stopped the morning f snacking and hunger.
