Can I have sugar on 5:2 / on fast days

Just wondering can I have sugar as long as I count the calories on fast days? And milk as well as long as I count the calories? I only have a small teaspoon in my tea and coffee. I have tried to give it up but I hate tea and coffee without it! Thanks.

Nope you can't.You can have Stevia or xylitol I think.
Go onto the Michael Mosley fast 800 website to see what he says.

Thanks @teta and what about on the non fast days? I will look at the website now.

@KnittingForMittens I think it depends on whether you are doing the original 5/2 or the Mediterranean 5/2. You can eat anything on the original but not on the Med. one. As the fast days are restricted to 800 calories on this, plus heavily restricted carbs.
Hopefully you've read the info. on Michael Moseley's website now.

Thanks @teta. I couldn't really find a lot of information (unless I'm not looking hard enough?) I am doing the standard 5/2 diet. I am currently on a fast day. I've had no sugar, just plain coffee with milk and a boiled egg (counted calories for both). I am doing OK so far but it is only mid day... I think later on I will be very ravenous. I will have another coffee soon to try and suppress my appetite.
