Skipping breakfast had helped - life was great, now compulsive/overeating again how to get back on track.

I am not sure whether this is the page I should be posting on.

I had been finding skipping breakfast revolutionary for improving my mood and decreasing my appetite. Over the Easter period I went through eating more as with family/social functions having a late breakfast again. My constant urge to snack is back and now I'm finding I'm hungry in the am again.

I had lost weight through intermittent fasting and my relationship with food appeared to be great. I ate what I wanted almost three meals within a eating window.

So I don't know if my body is just wanting to eat a lot to regain the weight I had lost - which I now have done- which is really disheartening. I don't know if I'm just using food to improve mood again (?)

I wonder if anyone else has slipped up on IF and then got back on the wagon again to permanently sort out their appetite/weight? Or any tips?

Didn't want to read & run. I used to be very similar to you. I'm doing the fast 800 and it's really changed how I feel/react to food. Now I have cut right back on my carbs I very rarely crave stuff and have only really overeaten once in 6 weeks. Might be worth checking out? I used to have constant cravings and it's so nice now that's not the case!

Aww Phoenix was really kind of you to reply and share. Not overeaten in 6 weeks! wow. I have looked at this diet, when I go very low carb sometimes I can't sleep but perhaps if I could get all the food in before bed that may work.

I think I'll have to clear out the cupboards too. It's so helpful to hear someone else is like me and can stick to something. Where do you go for support Phonix? and at the end of a hard day you're not turning to food? I have found when I have lost a little weight sometime I get a rebound hunger. Do you think your lack of hunger is the low carb element?

We have a fab board right here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/fasting_diet/3532374-blood-sugar-diet-and-fast800-thread-14?watched=1&msgid=86750238#86750238

I've lost 23lbs in 7 weeks! The difference is definitely the carbs. (You're limited to less than 60/70g I think) but on the days I've thought 'Ooh how dangerous is 1 piece of toast' I am then ravenous for the rest of the day. WIthout white carbs I'm not hungry for hours at a time, with carbs I want to eat all the time!
