Hi, I have some weight to lose, around 1 stone. I am not sure which approach to follow for this. If I go 5:2 is the advice still to stick to 500 calories on the fasting days (for a woman) and not eat for 12 hours? Or is that now 800 calories?

Any help appreciated Smile

Michael Mosely is saying the magic calorie-count is now 800, not 500, so you can do 5:2 with this amount of calories. He also advocates eating within a restricted number of hours, such as an 8 hour window, which gives the body a chance to burn off carbs and then fats, but you don't have to do this if you don't want. Time restricted eating means you will lose weight quicker. That's my understanding of it all Smile

Thankyou that’s a great help. I think I will do 5:2 and try to stick to 8 hours for eating (non stop - I wish) and maybe 600 cald
