Fasting / 5:2 diet

Talk about intermittent fasting and 5:2, including what’s worked for others. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

Anyone done 18:6 HFLC - EVERYDAY? So fast 6pm to 12noon - then 2 meals...

BSD is 800/day -- I was hoping that adding a fasting element to it would enhance weight loss (impatient me...) but it seems that many on the BSD structure their days this way any way. So not sure there is any benefit.

I have done BSD for 18 months sort of but in my opinion I think you'd struggle to do less than 800 consistently, unless you're very petite (ie need less calories anyway). If you do 800 properly and consistently, you'll still lose. Come and join us on our lovely had thread!

If you are impatient just significantly increase whatever exercise you are doing at the same time as you cut back on food... even if it means going out in the dark and getting up earlier ( admittedly harder in winter than in summer). So 20 k steps instead of 10 k and try to do your exercise in the '16' window.
